Is it wrong that I kind of hope so?

its a large money hungry company(which we know and love) trying to branch out with a intresting concept but a bad baaad voice over, i for one, think the idea is pretty intresting, but wouldn't feel like making and painting al those ships to play a simple boardgame....wait. i means a simple boardgame with very little variation.
I do, however, like the matt.

It does, once again, prove that GW needs a better marketing staff.

I got all excited thinking that new empire or something cool would be coming along (damn i really with they'd do brettonians again) and then theyve basically done a limited run of something which is essentially not very useful as theres a small selection of miniatures.
An exchange between Arleth Vann and Malus Darkblade in Warpsword:

"'My lord!' the assassin cried from above. 'Are you all right?'

'Just fine,' Malus snarled. 'These jagged rocks managed to break my fall.'"

Honestly guys, I'm seeing this as a test. If Dreadfleet sells well and quickly, they may expand the range of models. Creating new mats, and more ships with different armies.

I would love to see a Druchii Black Ark on there somewhere, if all goes according to GW's plan

I can't see an expansion ever happening; it's a limited edition release. Not much good to release an expansion if you can't sell the original product alongside it.

They should rather re-publish Warhammer Quest with the quality level of Space Hulk! :D

Thanee! I heard rumours and whispers about a re-release of Warhammer Quest, but putting too much faith in such talk is a waste of time and like to send one mad. It would be far more popular than Dreadfleet, and could be expanded over time.

Something like Dreadfleet would appeal to me much more if it was more Mordheim-esque. Pirate warbands who evolve over time, stealing treasure from other pirates, losing limbs, getting scurvy etc. Boarding a ship and kicking the Captain over the side would be such fun! I like what GW is trying to do with Dreadfleet, but the delivery seems a bit flat. And the price...

No thanks. Bring on more specialist games though!

More likely it is the nimble fingers of GW plucking at our heart strings. How lovely, I know this dance!

I am not going to spend 90€ for something so limited in use. No chance of expanding, as I see it.
If they aimed for a test if this product carries itself and can be expanded they should have used more fleets along the line of common armies. That way players could have identified themselves more easily with a part of it.
If they were not sitting on our land, I would not spend a single bolt on the Asur.
How to tell apart the elves:
Men run naked - Asrai
Women run naked - Druchii
Don't know whether man or woman - Asur

Hmm, I am not going to buy that.

Anyway, don't you guys think they will re-release the thing if they get a lot of interest?
