Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos
So... now we are supposed to buy literature from GW to get some new rules for warhammer? it is an incredibly expensive book. i am not sure i understand fully what it is. Is it nerd-porn or new rules, or both? will the rules be official?
One good thing at least. since it is a book, it will be easy to download it for free. i am not paying that kind of price for a book that isnt a new rulebook (and i dont like to do that even then :/)
ps. yes i know downloading (stealing) is illegal and immoral. spare me the lecture.

I'm not sure I understand your point.
Are you complaining about the price of the book...
because you'd like to read it? Or are you complaining about the book usefulness in game terms? Or both?
I think it's a sort of campaign book with new tailored chaos and empire armies (those army books are required to use Tamurkhan).
It seems really really optional to me............
Nonetheless, Empire fans and Nurgle fans should consider buying it.

It does seem to be a wholly optional supplement to WFB. Even as an Empire player, though, I would not purchase that, at that insane price, just for some new rules. If I want to use a model, I can just integrate it into my current army using the standard rules we already have.
Even past that; I can't justify spending ~$90 on the story (it had better be one amazing story).

I'm in the same camp. Storm of chaos and the main books are one thing, this is another.
Plus, arnt there supose to be three more coming out, so even more of a money pit?

Imperial Armor is almost mandatory if you play Apocalypse on a regular basis.
I'd expect these books to be aimed similarly, at people playing a lot of Storm of Magic.

i said it when they did storm of magic, i said it when they did dreadfleet and ill say it again:
THIS IS ALL TIME AND MONEY THAT THEY COULD SPEND ON FIXING WOODELVES, DWARFS, AND ALL THE OTHER BROKEN TEAMS.
GWs top scientists sat down and thought to themselves "how can we make the game better so that ppl will continue to buy our products?" and the answer they came up with was "a 200 page full color storybook about a maggot living inside an ogre". fascinating :/

Just because they're working on one thing it doesn't mean they're ignoring another. Do you think they only focus on one project at ta time? That while dreadfleet was being modeled and written that the entirety of GW staff were working on it? Guess what, they weren't.

Tamurkhan is made by Forgeworld.
The other books are made by Games Workshop.
I see no conflict of interest, they don't take away people from writing say "Wood Elves" to make them write Tamurkhan and its like.

My only problem with this is, the chaos dwarf rules are not official. SOB SOB SOB. I have said it since ravening hordes, if they will bring back Chaos Dwarfs I will play them. The chaos dwarf army is everything I have ever wanted in an army. Tough hard hitting lil dudes, soild magic and warmachine support. Whats not to love?
Flyers for the win in 8th.

I am sorry, but I am astonished at some of the complaining coming out of this.
It is all optional in there, think of it as an expansion you don't really need.
It also has (from my knowledge) two armybooks in there. The Chaos Dwarfs, and a buttload of toys for Warriors of chaos. There is also campaign rules in there as well, so really, you are getting three books in one. It is also great quality, on par with the collectors edition rulebook (leatherbound, parchment paper, full colour)
I don't own it myself, but my friend just got his yesterday and I had a look through, it is a good book. But as I said, optional, no one is telling you to buy it, so I don't see where the complaining is coming from...

It cost me less than $80 Aus including shipping and currency conversion charges. Considering the rulebook retails for $124 and new-style army books for $69, I don't think that's an excessive dollar value.
