Blood Angels in April

Post by Demetrius »

Inquisitor_Aling_James wrote:Games Workshop have announced the upcoming release of a new Blood Angels Codex for 40K.

From their announcement:?
This April the Blood Angels will be re-launched with an all-new Codex and range of plastic and metal miniatures. One of the oldest and noblest of all Space Marine Chapters, the Blood Angels have stood fast against the enemies of the Imperium since the Great Crusade and it was their Primarch Sanguinius, who laid down his life to aid the Emperor against Horus in the final hours of the Warmaster’s rebellion. The new Codex explores the background and history of these superhuman warriors like never before, and contains new artwork depicting some of their greatest battles and most powerful champions.
The Blood Angels have always been a powerful close combat army and have been made even deadlier thanks to a range of specialist wargear, the ability to field Assault Squads as Troops choices, and more Dreadnoughts than any other Space Marine Chapter, including a Death Company Dreadnought and the fabled Furioso Dreadnought. The Sons of Sanguinius will be deep striking onto a tabletop near you this April – now’s the time to practice painting red.

Thats right fokes, Dark Eldar have been pushed even further down the production line so GW can release yet ANOTHER Marine Chapters codex.

On the up side, more and more rumours of Dark Eldar are reaching us. And BA players will be happy knowing they no longer need to get by with a PDF print-out or two White Dwarfs.
Count them:

Painted in 2013: 500
Painted in 2014: 600
Painted in 2015: 854

Agreeing with Gno here. At least we are hearing more and more DE rumours. Plus who know, maby De will be the next super power in 40k ;)

Awesome news. Blood angels are my second favourite marines (after Deathwatch). Looking forward to some emo vampire loonie marines...

To be honest, I'm not too concerned about D Eldar. The original version was a poor list with ugly models. If it takes time but they get them right, the wait will be worth it. Far better than some half baked codex for them. Some armies just take longer to come up with a decent direction (or inspiration).

Ah hearing about the models, I am quite looking forward to this release. Whispers on Warseer and B&C are pointing towards 'winged jump packs' so I'm hoping they are gonna play up the BA's angelic side as well as their vampiric side.

Agreed Zardock. I think it would be an interesting mix to see some armies with both vampire style characters and Angel style. Or whole armies with vampire style heads.. o the posibilities ;)
