As the days passed, he had small conversations with the female druchii, he told her his name, a bit of his home and his parents, but made sure that nothing he told could be used against him.
The captain ordered them out of the carraiage, he looked around and saw the 12 druchii.
only 12? Lets see how the captain will handle this. And if anyone will come to the twelves assistance.
But the only thing the captain did was to prepare her soldiers to battle, and before much else happened the Gladiator stepped forward and shouted to them, then Sirenis joined him, while the other warrior prepared his handbow.
Perfect setting, a warrior with a handbow a khainite with draich, a gladiator with a glaive if only neither of them gets in the way, those 12 will be dead in no time.
Senluthan walked up to the other two preparing his morning star and dagger. And a meter behind them he whispered

If it comes to battle don't get in my way, propably I can't tell friend from foe. I need to depend on you to have my back against those 12!

Knowing that the other 2 might not like that he gives them orders, he still said it, cause he knew perfectly well that those in front of him were his enemies when he goes into frenzy. As he walked up on the right hand of the gladiator he looked back to see what the captain was doing. Apparently she let things go the way they did.
So we are sacrificial, at least it doesn't matter if we die now.

Senluthan stops a meter behind the others standing on the right side of Korvus. If the 12 druchii makes a move, he will let Sirenis and Korvus take care of the first two, and then charge in the side of the 12, swinging the mace to the stomach of the first one, hopefully he will fall back and make some disorder and distraction. After that swing he will attack all in front of him, as the frenzy controls him to not think of defence, but only attack. If the 12 druchii stops he will await the captain.

As the guards started to form a nice little defensive shield wall, on the already crowded road, Korvus, Senluthan and Serenis stepped out of the line with weapons showing. Warning the strangers for what might come of them if they continue to behave as they do, that there will be bloodshed.

Hearing these words, one of the cloaked people raised his hand, ordering all to stop. As they all stopped about 250 meters away, not showing any signs of retaliation or of revealing themselves. The stranger dropped his hand, and within seconds, bolt struck the ground before the mercenaries feet. As it hadn't rained or snowed in the region for days, the loose sand flew up, blinding all temporarily. "shiz, someone, secure the prisoner. Do NOT let them near him, or let him escape!" Karinthia yelled, immediately realising what the goal was. "Mercenaries, prepare yourselves, these aren't easy to beat. They are fast, agile and carry the same armour as my guards, do not rely on heavy weaponry. Light and fast is best against them." She said, dismounting. "Riders, get to the bolt thrower, then return." She ordered toward the dark Riders, who set off to do as ordered. Within mere seconds after the order, out of the dust cloud that was lightening, six shadow's appeared, all bearing a dagger sword combination.

Korvus was first to react, together with Senluthan, who both attacked the same person with their weapons. The glaive came in high, and the mace came from the middle, however, both missed their target. The unknown opponent dropped to the ground, and gotten up right behind them, turning around and ripping a bit of leather to a sunder, followed by a short fall back of the opponent.

Serenis was at about an equal disadvantage as Korvus. Packing a Draich, she also experienced the mere speed of their underestimated opponent. As she swung it in an horizontal arc, the opponent used the slender blade as a lift by leaping onto it. Though if this had failed it would have meant his leg to be cut off, the stranger showed signs of medium armour, shiny and bright, full of silver and white. Though they were of the same length, the stranger flipped itself off of the draich and over Serenis. The moment he landed, he ducked underneath the blade, appearing to be playing with the Khainite female as he did not grab the attack advantage.

However, not all of the battles went bad. Kailleth was attacked as well by two assailant, his rapid reaction with the handbow was one that was too fast to evade, as the bolt that was fired smashed itself into the stomach of one of the assailants. With a quick switch of weaponry, Kailleth drew his sword and shield to defend himself against the assailants. His actions managed to save his life as the shield was quickly raised before his neck and blocked the tip of the sword. At equal base as the assailants, he managed to not being in a disadvantage by heavy weaponry such as a draich or a glaive.

The other two strangers were busy fighting the guards, mostly two on one but the guards and the strangers were at equal terms if it came to equipment and use of it.

So, Senluthan was scratched first. He and Korvus fight with one stranger. Serenis fights against one as well though he is toying with her. Kailleth got first blood and is in combat with one stranger, as the other is on the ground bleeding his guts out.

OOC - Not quite sure I understand this one. They are 250 meters down the road and fire an arrow at us which kicks up sand, and then six assassins spring out of the cloud? I'm assuming they couldn't run that far in an instant and so some sort of magic is at play or did I miss something?

Note that it's not a crossbow bolt, but a bolt thrower bolt that was fired, therefore giving a much larger amount of sand that was being thrown into the air, resulting in more time for the strangers(no, not assassins) to come up close.

IC - Korvus watched as the twelve Druchii came to a halt some way down the road, still much further out than he had intended to confront them. He felt the rest of the mercenaries form around him though as back up, or as a fighting force in their own right perhaps, which had yet to be seen. At least with these three standing either side of me there's less chance of me getting a bolt in the neck. Almost as if in answer to that thought, a single crossbow bolt whistled out of the mob and impacted on the dusty road in front of them. The gladiator made a mental note of which face belonged to the enemy chief before the sand enveloped his vision, ensuring he would know which man to butcher in the fight to come.

And then, as if from nowhere, they were suddenly under attack. Six mysterious cloaked figures pounced out of the sand cloud like wraiths, and Korvus knew that no single bolt could kick up so much sand, and that no six Druchii could move two hundred and fifty yards in such a short space of time. He sensed dark magic about the situation, and the thought made him spit in the dirt. Come and fight me like a man, you coward. he though, as the first of the shadowy assassins dropped out of the sand and tried to kill him. He sliced at it with his glaive, just as one of his comrades made a sweeping pass with a mace, but somehow the ninja of an enemy avoided them both. No matter, he thought, listening to the captains order in the background, If heavy weapons won't affect them, let's see how well they dodge this.

Korvus will turn around and hurl his right fist into the cloaked attackers hood, aiming to at worst break his jaw, and at best knock him out.

Once down, Korvus will stamp on his throat and spin back around, glaive held in a defensive stance before him. Just like killing in the arena.

Kailleth watched as the group of figures came to a stop, but before anyone could start to ask them what their purpose was, a bolt came out of the group and crashed at the feet of his companions blinding them all. kailleth brought his shielded up to cover his face and leveled his hand bow at the cloud.

Kailleth saw a small amount of hooded figures slam in to his fellow mercenary’s as the caption was shouting commands, he also heard steel meeting steel at the shield wall in front of him, then he saw two shadows sprinting towards him and the carriage, out of instinct he levelled and shot tree bolts from his hand bow before dropping it and drawing his sword, he saw one rifer go down with a bolt in his gut but the other two bolts went wide, before kailleth could step to meet his opponent a sword came flashing toward his neck, kailleth had to quickly raise he shield taking the blow across the face or his shield. Feeling the strength and speed of the blow kailleth rolled backwards to put some distends between him and his combatant, as kailleth came up on his feet in a low crouch he saw that he was at the side of the carriage, kailleth brought his shield up so it was in front of him so it is between him and the hooded figure and his sword held behind out of site behind his shield, “if you won’t the prisoner come and get him!... kaine will decide your fate!” Kailleth snarled as he took small steps backwards to stand in front of the carriage door.

Kailleth will stand at the carriage door with his shield in front of him and sword behind it he will also try and keep the carriage to his side or back to limit the angels of being attacked from . If the hooded druchii attacks, kailleth will crouch and lift his shield up to cover his head and upper body and thrust his sword at the figures groin, and if the figure try’s to jump over him kailleth will stand to his full height and smash his shield upward to knock the figure out of the air, if this sussed kailleth will bring his sword down to finish the figure off

He's toying with me, Sirenis realised. I can use this.

The cloaked figure had leapt on top of her draich and then somersaulted onto the ground behind her, ducking under the weapon, presumably with a wicked grin on his face.

If this is the game you want to play, then we shall play it, fool.

The cloaked thing crouched before her, blade in hand, his breathing loud and heavy. He seemed to wearing fairly decent protection, a breastplate, some chain, and some greaves. However, his armour would not be strong enough to cover all of his body, and Sirenis knew that, if she hit hard enough in the right places, her assailant would be crippled.

Without warning, and fast as lightning, Sirenis spun around the side of her assailant, kicking violently at the back of his knee. At the same time, she brought her draich around in a sweeping arc at shoulder height with all her speed and strength, the movement disguised by her spin.

Go on, fool, Sirenis thought, her blade slicing through the air, Leap.

Sirenis uses her Basic Heal knowledge to figure out that she should strike at the back of his knee. She spins quickly, swinging her draich as she does so, and kicking at the back of her opponent's knee. Since the movement of her blade is somewhat disguised, she's hoping that the assailant will once again leap up and have his body rent asunder by the blade. If he doesn't, hopefully he will be hit in the knee and crippled, losing his head to the draich moments later. If any of this succeeds, Sirenis will cry out, Korvus! Back of the knee!

As the bolt hitted the ground and kicked up the dust, senluthan almost instantly started his assault, starting to give in to his frenzy, not many thoughts remained in him. One of the cloaked figues charged in and the Gladiator made a swing with his Glaive, almost simultaniously Senluthan made a swing with his morning star directed towards his chest coming from the right. Both of these attacks the enemy however dogded, on from the ground slashed towards Senluthans stomach, and suddenly it seemed a very good idea he choosed to wear a leather armour. He only had the time to think
they are prepared for what we got, gotta kill ...
Before the pain and battlerush completes the frenzy and complete erases all thoughts in Senluthan except the joy of a battle and the thrill of killing off his opponent. The enemy stood up behind him and the Gladiator. With his right arm crossed over his chest from the swing earlier Senluthan swings his right arm with a horizontal attack from the dagger, Expecting the enemy to dodge out of the gladiators punch and therefore coming in to range of his dagger.

So Senluthan swings his dagger, if the enemy dogdes both his and Korvus' attack, Senluthan will try and close in with only thought of attack, and swing his morning star from the left and down on the enemy.
If however either the dagger or the punch hits its target, Senluthan will instantly search for a new figured cloak and charge towards. He will begin the new battle with a wide swing from the right in the bottom to the left in the top with his morning star, use the force and spin, then slice his dagger down from with a backhand stab.

First off, sorry for the late modpost, I've been busy like, all week so far and I couldn't find time nor space to modpost.

Modpost:

As the stranger was returning to a stance, his hope of getting off against these two without any scars or broken bones was vein to begin with as he was fighting both a Khainite in battle-rage and a gladiator. With Korvus and Senluthan coming back around, the stranger gotten a fist against his nose to start off with, having to recoil, he just managed to dodge the dagger of Senluthan, who turned his back toward him and was surprised by a sudden appearance of yet another stranger. However, it might seem odd that the ones that stood only a mere 250 feet away slowly sent their men forward into battle one by one as it seemed to be much more of a trouble then expected.

However, the stranger knew that this was an advantage he shouldn't leave unused and quickly sprang into action by attack Senluthan in his back. The raging Khainite was lucky however as there was a capable companion next to him, who swung his glaive right between the two in a vertical slash, which almost took a limb off of the stranger.

The stranger startled backwards, and his motion triggered something else. The hood fell off, letting the sun light up his face and to everyone's surprise, revealed the strangers identity. That they were capable fighters was not a doubt, that they were fast and agile wasn't a doubt either, yet that the stranger who was revealed was a female was a small surprise compared to the last thing that she was, an Asur. Long treads of black hair fell from the hood and dressed the bare face of the warrioress, who stood with a sword and a dagger.

With Kailleth standing next to the seemingly important carriage, the stranger that was left had no choice but to go straight through him, or over him, to get to the objective. Honed by years of training, and fighting alongside various warriors, shades and khainites, Kailleth crouched, lowering his field of perspective and setting up a defensive position, bearing a shield and a sword right behind it. As the stranger charged at the warrior, it did not intend to fight the warrior where his shield was. With a leap, and two arms ready to catch any blow, the stranger jumped over Kailleth, who expected this. Thrusting back to a stance, and with his shield going high, Kailleth slammed it against the body of the stranger, at least, that's what he thought he did.

Serenis had a different approach on the things that were against her. Being one of the softer and more understandable, let alone more talk-active, then the rest of the group, she was pretty disappointed by the aggression of their adversaries. Whether the said was a result of her being a woman, or her being just kind and understandable was a mystery. However, the feeling changed to disgust the moment she realised her opponent wasn't serious about their fight. With a quick think of Druchii anatomy, she moved as swift as possible with the heavy armour she wore and thought of a way to take away the swiftness of her opponent. With a kick on the backside of the knee, she attempted to do something more relying on the strategy of her opponent as she brought her Draich toward him in a spin. Expecting a leap, she grinned at the very thought. However, the stranger thought of something else this time. As the kick in the knee was paralysing for a part, the stranger could still move and use the leg, resulting in a swipe move of the other leg that took the floor out underneath Serenis, who's Draich only took off the very top of the hood. The hood fell off, and yet another female emerged from the created darkness. And yet again it was a female Asur.

"Watch it! These are Shadow Warriors! Our cousins that didn't support our lord!" Karinthia yelled out, while fighting one on her own.

Senluthan was charged by another stranger, but this time it wasn't as a standard stranger. The hood was drawn back and the Asur face was just as easy to recognize as any other. Black hair followed her motion, as the female warrior lashed out with her swords. Senluthan was quick and swung the large morning star toward the Asur, who, even though she attacked, evaded the blow with mere ease. The sword struck the leather at the side of Senluthan, and pierce the leather like it was red hot. The damage was limited and the sword didn't cause much of it either, yet the small slice was drawing blood on Senluthan, knocking him out of his fury.

The stranger that was fighting Kailleth was indeed very fast, and very smart. Before any resulting damage or effect of the shield bash of the young guardsmen could be achieved, she placed her hands on the shield and pushed herself away, only increasing her landing distance by a feet. With a near perfect landing, she turned around, loosing her hood in the process.

Yeah, you're fighting women. Guys, congratulations on achieving a fight with females. Really classy XD. Anyway, Senluthan is engaged by one of the newer Shadow Warriors, Korvus has taken the one he was fighting already on himself, Serenis is lying on the ground at the feet of one of the shadow warriors, Kailleth is still standing face to face with the shadow warrior he's facing.

There are 5 warriors standing where they stood, though they restarted their movement how slow it might not be. 2 guards have killed one of the warriors off and one of the guards has fallen to the remaining stranger. The remaining 10 guards are moving to meet the slowly moving warriors in the middle. you have 2 days!

Senluthan made a loud cry as the sword bit his flesh and then curses over the pain.
She is too fast, either I gotta slow her down or speed up more than my frenzied self.
As Senluthan took a glance around, he saw Sirenis on the ground, the gladiator in a one on one fight, And the guard apparantly doing quite well on his own.
Knowing the risk Senluthan swings around to the direction where Sirenis at. He throws his morning star towards the the shadow warrior hoping that without aim it will still give the druchii just a splitsecond more to get on her feet..
He then completes the spin, puts the dagger in the right hand, and draw his sword to his left hand.
They are agile, fast and got skills. Now i need to do one of those things better than them! I haven't trained my skills for a long time because of the frenzy! And agile? As if thats gonna happen. Only one thing to do then, gotta be faster in my attacks. I just hope this wound doesn't slow me down too much.

Senluthan slowly approach the shadow warrior, the sword turned down in his hand ready to parry anything that comes toward him. And the dagger turned the same way ready to stab.
Okay steady now, she is too sure of herself, i am already wounded and not raging anymore. She will expect to get an easy kill now! Gotta use that to my advantage.

Senluthan will slowly approach the Shadow warrior. He will hold the sword in his left hand in a defensive move. He will try to block the incoming attack so that he can stab for the wrist or go for the kill. If the enemy doesn't initiate the first attack, he will try block the enemies right handed weapon to Senluthans left side and go for the kill with his dagger.

As Sirenis crashed into the frosty road, she felt the sting of her pride and the burning of her hatred for the Asur. As she hit the ground, Sirenis dropped her draich and pulled her dagger from its sheath on her belt. Rolling onto her back, she held her left arm into the air over her face, attempting to block the incoming blows of the Asur scum with her vambrace.

"Asur filth! You cannot kill a true daughter of Nagarythe! cried Sirenis. She hoped that this insult would enrage the Shadow Warrior and distract her from the second kick which Sirenis was about to throw at her already weakened knee.

Sirenis rolls onto her back using the momentum of the fall, pulling a dagger from her belt. Blocking any incoming attacks with the heavy armour on her arm, she taunts the Asur with a pretty offensive slur (she's saying that the Shadow Warrior is not a true Nagarythi). Using this distract, she attempts to kick out her opponent's knee, hopefully making her fall over. If she succeeds, she will throw herself on top of the prone warrior, using the weight of her armour to hold the Asur down, and stabbing her furiously with the dagger, aiming for the face and other unarmoured parts.

Korvus couldn't quite work it out, as he watched the hood of the female warrior fall back after he delivered a nose breaking punch to her face. His comrade made a slash with his dagger but she avoided it, her dark hair falling about her fair features even as she looked at him with hatred and contempt. Could it be... Asur? That's impossible! No Asur has breached past the Witch Kings borders in five thousand years, and yet here they are, right before my very eyes. I knew I smelled witchcraft and sorcery. Well, there is only one thing to do with illusions like these. And that is to break them.

"Meet your death, shadow walker" he growled as he slid his hands up towards the head of his glaive.

Korvus will deliver a sharp upwards cut with his blade, holding it just behind the head. He fully expects the nimble warrior to jump back from this attack, so will let the glaive slide through his grip as it rises until he is holding the haft near the bottom. He will then deliver a powerful downward chop, which by all accounts should connect the blade with the spot where the Asur just moved herself, splitting her in two.

If she somehow dodges, he will go into a spin, bringing the glaive around in a fast diagonal cut rather than a heavy downwards one. Then he will kick her in the knee, and punch her in the face again.

And then again.

Kailleth had to plant his foot as he felt the impacted agenised his shield, kailleth know something was amiss when instead of the sound of a body hitting the ground he heard the sound of a surefooted landing, as kailleth lowered his shield he saw the figure standing a little farther back then before still with sword in hand. Kailleth re-Adopted his defensive stance and sneered at the girl that stood before him, “well if you came here to dance these pleasure houses in Clar Karond I’ll sell you to, but if you’re here to die I can do that for you as well” kailleth said in a velvet tone like he was addressing a lover instead of a asur. “come on girl let me show you how this dances is done” he said as he moshend with his shield for her to come at him.

Still keeping the carriage to his flank kailleth will adopted the same stance as before and will wait for her to make the first move. If she attacks again kailleth will raise his shield again but faint a thrust at her mid-section, if she tries to side step the faint kailleth will turn the trust in to a slash aiming for her legs and fallow up with a sweeping trust from his shield. If she jumps again kailleth will keep his shield up and spin on his heel slashing with his sword at the asur’s chest as she lands then try and land a kick at her hip in the same motion.

Modpost:

The mercenaries weren't having the best times in fighting the Asur. Although the wounds were minimal, namely only Senluthan who had them, their Asur opponent were slightly in an advantage toward the armoured mercenaries in both experience and agility, proving this numerous times.

Senluthan was among the first to be engaged, and later on was engaged by a different Asur, this one was unknown for it's capabilities, however already proved herself to be fast and agile. However, even though it was fast and agile, the attitude proved to be one of the brash kind, proving to be young and overconfident. Sure of herself, the Asur charged at Senluthan and went for an attempted kill on the already wounded Druchii. However the Asur was fast, Senluthan was fast as well, blocking the incoming sword and lashing out with his own. The Asur blocked it, but Senluthan wasn't done just yet. Having freed himself from the uncontrollable frenzy, he now saw all the possibilities to strike at the enemy, making him a lot more dangerous. Striking immediately after the block, the Asur didn't know what hit him. Punching through the chainmail that covered the leg, the female asur had to withhold herself from screaming in pain as the dagger embedded itself in her leg. She dropped her sword and reached for the dagger, which was the moment Senluthan was waiting for. He pulled out the dagger and plunged it into her arm that carried the sword, resulting in it losing all the strength in it.

Continuing to engage with his trusty Glaive, Korvus attempted a sharp upward cut to get the Asur Shadow Warrior to move even though it seemed to be taking the battle not to serious. The action was good but the results were less then effective or good for Korvus. The Asur managed to grab hold of the glaive right underneath the blade and hurled her legs upward. Being hit with the leather boot against the helmet, the hit still managed to knock Korvus out of his balance, as his head was rumbling around.

Serenis however wasn't as lucky. Though her taunt seemed to work, it's effect was of too short a moment to be effectively used against the Asur, as the Morning Star that was thrown by Senluthan interrupted the Asur from moving forward. Now wary of her surroundings, she backed off of the downed Druchii while maintaining her guard.

Kailleth and his opponent however didn't even have the chance to continue their battle, as a horn drew the attention of all the Asur, and the Druchii as well. Without hesitation, the Shadow Warriors that appeared out of nowhere started to scatter into the forests, too fast to be taken out by a bolt. All that was left of the Asur were 2 corpses, and one that was alive but couldn't get away from the Druchii as she was wounded in both her arm and her leg.

"Mercenary, what is your name?" Karinthia spoke as she walked next to Senluthan, who proudly stated his name. "Well, Senluthan. You managed to capture one of our hated kin. I'd prefer if you would bound her and keep her alive. If you don't want her for company in lone nights, perhaps you could sell her to the highest bidder. And with that, we have prove of Asur being in Naggarond. You can feel the skin, you can drink her blood, I don't see any other proof needed then that to figure she's as real as us." She continued, not caring for the possible answer she might get.

With the guards cleaning the road and burying their fallen comrade in a proper way, the mercenaries and Karinthia had a couple of moments to talk to each other before they all continued their way.

So, battle's over. Senluthan got away with a possible prisoner and a nice wound on his side which should be attended to, otherwise it WILL start to have influence on his capabilities in battle. Serenis got away with nothing except a scarred ego, which is actually the same for Korvus. Kailleth gotten away with nothing except for a nice kill and a good fight.

You can talk to each other, or talk with Karinthia if you wish. The guards are kinda busy and the riders are on their way back. 2 days!

Sirenis breathed a sigh of relief as the Asur backed away from her prone body. A horn sounded and, as quickly as the High Elves had appeared, they were gone.

Well, at least I'm not dead, Sirenis thought, standing up and sheathing her dagger. As Sirenis bent to pick up her draich, she saw Senluthan, the Khainite, proclaim his capture to Karinthia.

Lucky bastard, she thought. Or maybe not so lucky. That wound on his side will fester if it's not tended to.

"Senluthan!" she cried. "Come here, and bring me a waterskin and a couple of clean rags."

Sirenis stands up, picking up her weapons. She then calls Senluthan over and asks him to bring some rags and water. When he comes to her, she'll tend to his wound using her Basic Heal knowledge, aiming to stop any bleeding and give the wound time to close over. Afterwards, she'll tend to the wounded Shadow Warrior to keep her alive, then assist the rest of the group with whatever they happen to be doing in whatever way she is able.

EDIT: Added tending to Shadow Warrior in response to Senluthan's request.

As he had hoped the Asur got to brave after he got wounded. And let her guard open. After he stabbed her leg, and just after used another opening to make a wound on her arm, he were just about to finish her off so that he did not have to watch her, and could start the fight with another. Just at that time a horn blew. And suddenly all the Shadow warriors retreated.
Oh well when they all run, let's see what the captain wants to do with her
After making sure the Shadow warrior didn't go anywhere he took a look around to see how the other were. Sirenis was on her feet again, Korvus stood and looked like they hit him. And the guard stood in front of the prisoners carriage.
Oh well seems like i'm the only one wounded of the 4 of us.
Then the Captain spoke Mercenary what is your name walking over next to Senluthan.
Senluthan Redskull, captain And just after he was being told that he could do what he wanted with the prisoner!
Nice... she is gonna make some money for me!

Senluthan come here and bring me a waterskin and a couple of clean rags. Sirenis cried

Senluthan took what she asked for and as he walked he said
Yo Gladiator. What is your name? that was a swift punch you had earlier. unless i was as fast as they were, i wouldn't wanna go against your glaive.
Then when he was at Sirenis he asked her You know some healing?
He then took of his armour letting Sirenis look to his wound. While she does that, senluthan spoke again.
Guardsman, you just saved the most of our hire! and killed one of them on top nice job! to whom do i have the honour?
And finally he will also adress the Captain again Captain, if i may? do you know why asur were attacking us? is our prisoner one of them? And you got any idea why they just left? if the rest of them had assaulted us we would have had a hard time!

Senluthan lets Sirenis attend to his wounds. When she is done he will ask her to make sure that the shadow warrior doesn't bleed to death, after all they aint worth much dead! He will then walk over to see if he can find his morning star again.

Kailleth looked deep into the asur eyes Dearing her to act, the hatred between the two was almost palpable As a long horn blast rang through the air. Kailleth refused to tear his eyes from his adversary as she started slowly edging away, “we will dance in kaines garden one more little girl” Kailleth said in a dark voice loud enough for the asur to hear as she ran away with her sisters.

Kailleth watched them disappear for a moment then sheathed his sword and retrieved his hand bow and walking over to the others, “Guardsman, you just saved the most of our hire! And killed one of them on top nice job! To whom do I have the honour?” Kailleth turned to see that the male kainite had addressed him. Kailleth offered a slight bow and reply to the kainite “I’m Kailleth of house blackthorn out of Hag Greaf.” Kailleth then walked over to the asur he had shot, crouched down and started checking for any valuables and clues to what he had got himself into

Kailleth will retire his hand bow and search the dead asur’s body for any valuables and clues to what he had got himself into

Korvus thrust his glaive upwards, intending to either gut the Shadow Warrior or have him dance back into range of the follow up downwards chop. Instead, the agile elf somehow caught his blade in an impressive display of strength, and then kicked him square in the face. He recoiled from the hit, making sure to keep hold of his weapon and wrench it from the grip of his opponent rather than let it fall, and blinked away the tears the blow had formed in his eyes. He instinctively swept his glaive around to keep his opponent at bay, but by the time he shook off the effects of the unexpected blow the Asur were in full retreat, already dissapearing into the distant woods before a crossbow could be raised.

"How bloody fast do these cowards move?" he blurted, half to himself, as he began to stomp after them in the direction of the woods, "Let's see if they run away as fast as they fight."

A few steps off the road, he realised the Captain had called them to halt, and that none of his comrades were coming with him. He sighed, a deep rattle within his chest that sounded like a slumbering dragon.

"Suit yourselves, even one of them is enough to make us all rich beyond measure, the Witch King himself will want to hear of this. No Asur has made it this far inland in five centuries, the army of Naggarond itself may march to this place to see these shadows removed."

He stormed back to the caravan, angry that he had not been able to finish the Asur captain, that the fight had seemed to pass as quickly as the four days riding had done. As he walked past Senluthan, the other mercenary spoke to him,

"Yo Gladiator. What is your name? That was a swift punch you had earlier. Unless I was as fast as they were, I wouldn't wanna go against your glaive."

He grinned, blood staining his teeth where the Shadow Warrior had kicked him.

"I am Korvus Blackheart, and that punch was not my swiftest. One day soon I would spar with you, unless you are as cowardly as our Asur foes?"

Korvus answered Senluthans question with I am Korvus Blackheart, and that punch was not my swiftest. One day soon I would spar with you, unless you are as cowardly as our Asur foes?
Senluthan took a glance on the gladiator
You call me a coward? But you better be quite sure of your own strength if we are to spar. I don't have much control over my frenzy and from time to time i have killed those sparing with me, because of that. Even if we used wooden stocks!

Korvus chuckled under his breath as Senluthan took the bait. He had already learned from experience that the frenzy prone Khainites were often easy to manipulate if given the right use of words. The warrior had just strapped his glaive across his back, and held up his hands to show he had meant no offence,

"I do not call you a coward, I simply make an offer that could lead to such a mistake being made by some of our new comrades. By accepting my challenge however, you have removed all doubt. Let's give these hired guards a show they won't forget, and make sure they learn to be afraid of us."

He unslung his glaive again and rolled his shoulders, "And why wait? Come, let's test each other here and now, with cold Naggarothi steel."

As long as Senluthan agrees to spar, Korvus will enter a training bout with the Khainite with or without Karinthias approval. Korvus is weary from four days of uneventful travel and what could hardly be called a skirmish with the Asur, so wants to keep up his training. If the caravan guards are getting ready to move on again, they'll have to wait up a while. If Senluthan won't fight him yet, Korvus will shrug and offer the contest to one of the others instead.

Hmm. What is his intentions? Give the guards a show? It could be that his pride is hurt, so he wants the easiest target to show that he can fight and not just get beaten up by the asur! And since i am wounded that would be me! oh well i can as well get used to fighting with this wound!

You're on! I just need to be done with this treatment and find my morning star! Are you sure you want to fight one who actually beat our hated kin?
Senluthan looked over on him with smile in his eyes.
Knowing very well, that if it was his pride that was hurt the insult could get Korvus to get serious. And even though the wound would hinder him, he couldn't help but put the fight to their psyche as well.
can as well have som fun and if he get seriouse i just have to beat the crap out of him!

After Senluthan have his answer from the captain, he will try and find his morning star, after that he will spar with Korvus if there is still time!

Korvus would not allow himself to be drawn out by words the same way the Khainite had, being used to taunts in the arena during his gladiator days.

"I do not suffer for the loss against those shadows, I would have pursued them until either of us was dead, but nobody else here was with me."

He levelled his glaive and waited for Senluthan to prepare, sensing that the Khainite thought he was only picking on him because he was now wounded. He turned to the other two,

"Another day, I will fight the both of you as well. You see, I seek not to simply entertain, and certainly not to turn us against each other... but to fight with a man, that is when you learn the most about him,"

He looked back at Sirensis, and winked. "Or her, of course."

Wondering what the other two will do to pass the time while the guards sort out the reaper bolt thrower and prepare to move on as he and Senluthan play swords.

Well i think this will be great entertainment! And it can improve our fighting ability next time if we have better knowledge of each fightinng style!

Oh well doesn't seem like he is easy to provoke. We can only hope that will also be the deal when we have our next real battle!

Senluthan is a bit annoyed his taunt didn't work, but on the other hand he is quite satisfied that his companions ain't that easy to provoke!

Assuming they start facing each other and a few paces away from one another, Korvus will begin the fight by stepping in and slashing his glaive around. He will make use of his greater reach, keeping Senluthan and his weapons at an arms length. He will keep his hold on the glaive central, so that the spike at the bottom is as much a weapon as the blade at the head. Each cut will be aimed to kill, because he fully expects the Khainite to block and counter them all.

Korvus will try to begin wearing Senluthan down, making use of his greater Strength and Weapon Skill. Then he will try to draw him out into making a mistake, and only once he has the correct opening attempt to swipe his legs or disarm him. The end plan is to put Senluthan on his back with the glaives blade at his throat, but Korvus doesn't might sticking it out in a long fight and will not rush to put him there,

Senluthan looks at his opponent trying to figure how best to oppose him.

That big glaive, it is both his strength and weakness. And i seriously can't take that thing head on.

Senluthan expect Korvus to take the initiative of the battle. He will have the dagger in his left hand and block with that. And use the sword in his right to attack with. If the first attack that meats him is a diagonal slash from the top. He will use the dagger to afflect it and dodge under it. If on the other hand the first one comes from down or the middle, he will evade the cut backwards and immediately after try to close some of the distance. And then again deflect the upcoming blow and dodge under the glaive. In both events he will use the swing to get close. he will suspect a thrust after he closes in from the spike. That one being to risky to block he will dodge and then make a slash towards any part of the body vulnerable. After he dodge the spike. If he can't attack anywhere he will immidiately try and get out of the glaives range.
Senluthan will come with all his might, suspecting that one false move will mean more than just a bruise. And when two good fighters clash it is better to just trust the other being able to handle ones attack. than pulling them.

Modpost:

As the battle was over as fast it was engaged, the mercenaries slowly gathered their knowledge about what's going on. Many questions were thrown toward Karinthia which sighed at the upcoming battle between Korvus and Senluthan. "Okay, first off, I do not approve of you two battling with weapons." She said as she took away the weaponry of the two mercenaries. "Other then that, I don't mind it at all. You must be a bit weary after the long ride, I'll schedule a stop in Clar Karond for you to relax a bit, so if you could hurry up a bit, we might be able to get there before nightfall."

Senluthan grasped some rags and water from the carriage containing the prince, who was wondering what happened and followed him out of the carriage to ask the captain what happened. With the rags and the water, he walked over to Serenis, who immediately took the rags and water over, and pushed him gently against his left shoulder, making him turn to the left. Now having clear sight over the minor wound, Serenis started to work on getting it all fixed up. With the water, she cleaned it of any possible infection causing debris or bacteria. She then looked at her fellow Khainite, who wondered what she wanted. With a couple of words, she made really clear that she needed to be able to place the rags around his waist and on his wound. Stripping the armour, everyone thanked Khaine for the additional clothing underneath the armour, as Serenis wasn’t the most horrible looking woman, on the very contrary. Wrapping the rags as tight as possible, she climbed back to her feet and claimed to be done with the dressing of his wound, and sending him off to the practice battle.

Kailleth placed his handbow back around his belt as he saw the female Asur run away, and walked over to the corpse that they left behind. Searching the female body, all he could find was a strange marking around her ankle, a black swallow, holding a bloodred Druchii skull in its paws, stretched out wings as if it was flying. But this was not all he noticed. Stripping the elf down of her armour, he removed certain parts of clothing to investigate any further into the strange markings. What he found was disturbing.

When Serenis was done with the brash Khainite, she walked over to the Shadow Warriors, who looked at her and what she saw was envy. Not hatred, or patriotism, no. It was pure envy toward the Druchii Khainite. She paused for a second, confused on what was going on. Why would an Asur be in Naggarond, if she attacked them. She pushed the Asur over with her foot and she just lay there, not caring a little about what would happen to her. Tending to her wounds as requested, Serenis only made the bleeding stop but didn’t do anything special to add the healing process. As the wounds were quickly tended, Serenis stood up, turned around and walked away once more, this time toward the warrior guard, wondering what he was doing stripping down the Asur girl.

Standing next to Kailleth, Serenis was shocked at the discovery of the numerous tattoo’s, torture scars and letters indicating a Khaine cult. Both the torture and the letters indicated this, but the tattoo’s wasn’t clear. Calling Karinthia toward them with a nice and gentle request, Kailleth and Serenis started to wonder what they ran into. However, Karinthia appeared to be having no time, as she stood still, receiving reports on what the riders found. ”Okay, listen up everyone. I know that the last combat was strange, and what the riders have found was even stranger. It appears as if we were attacked by our own forces. The bolt thrower that shot wasn’t an Eagle Claw, but a Reaper. I don’t know what this does with you, but it changes my opinion toward our opponents. Senluthan, we’ll be needing your prisoner for interrogation, so postpone your fight until we’ve reached Clar Karond. Stop loafing around and get your asses to work. We got a rough 5 hours to reach the blasted city, and I’m not going to stall any longer because of a wanted brawl. Kailleth, Serenis and the prisoner, you’re going with me in the first carriage. It seems like you found something on that corpse. Bring it if you like to show me the proof. Korvus and Senluthan, I want you to split up. You’ll run shifts as we’re moving toward the city. Guards, you’re going to do shifts as well. Half of you will have the shift with Korvus, the other half will have the shift with Senluthan. They’re in charge if I’m not outside, but I still make the decisions.” She yelled as she walked toward Korvus and Senluthan. ”I’m trusting you guys, don’t spoil it with this brawl of yours. Act like a bloody man, and postpone it till we’ve settled in Clar Karond for a couple of days. Korvus, you’ll take the first shift. Senluthan, you’ll take the one after him. You’ll switch every 1 and a half hours. Both of you, don’t waste my men on jokes. They are meant to protect the carriage and that is all.” She exclaimed, giving them both their weapons back and turned her back toward the two mercenaries, walking toward the first carriage. ”Group ones up, Group two, you’ll remain in the second carriage along with the prince until the shift of group one is over. Now get moving.” Karinthia said, waving at Kailleth, Serenis and the prisoner to hurry up and get into the first carriage. The prisoner didn’t object, and walked as good as she good into the carriage, followed by Karinthia.

So, Korvus and Senluthan won’t have their first fight just yet. New orders just came in, get to Clar Karond. Settle there for a couple of days, then move on. During this period of time, there will be interrogations, torture if necessary, and of course drinking for 25 Gold a day at the most(though beer is cheap, only 1 gold for a pint. Wine is expensive, coming at 5 Gold a jug, and the stronger liquors are 10G a glass. :D

Tip: Don’t screw around with Karinthia, she’s tougher then she looks(what? You need to be one heck of a fighter to be able to keep over 200 soldiers under your command when necessary.) next post, hopefully 2 days, can change (reason in OOC Thread) Good luck.

Just as they were about to getting started Karinthia spoke again!
what she is a shadow warrior! but a reaper? were they after the lord or the captive? it could just be random that they went for the captives carriage! On the other hand they knew we were coming and they used magic! Then they probably went for carriage with the captive on purpose!

Then looking next to him seeing the lord
come on my lord! You have to stay in the carriage. We can't be sure that it ain't you they are after!

Senluthan then walks over to Korvus
hmm seems like our fight will have to stay put! So what can you get out of this mess? I would say they are after the captive. They know sorcery so they can probably tell what carriage the captive is in, and what carriage the lord is in.

After he finished talking with Korvus, Senluthan will try and gather the men under his command and say a few words to them:
Okay men, you are under my command at least until we get to Clar Karond. I expect that you follow my lead and my commands without a second thought. Especially if those scumbags come running again, it can mean life or death that we coorperate! Korvus and his squad has the first watch, so you can go in the carriage with Our Lord and prepare for our own switch in 1 and a half hour.

Senluthan will get the son to enter the carriage with the men. And on this first switch he will stay next to the driver of the carriage. He will observe how Korvus will do and perhaps get som inspiration.
When it is Senluthans switch, he will place two guards to the rear, 2 guards up the side close to the captive carriage, and three in the front. He himself will stay at the rear as well, to make sure he can act properly to any threat no matter where it comes from.
