Which kind of server will you go for in WAR?

Post by Endymion shazz'khadar »

I'm really longing for the release of warhammer online and I hope very much that there will be places where this vast and detailed universe can come to life. Still I'm unsure about which server type I will choose and I would like to know on which servers my fellow-druchii will be found :)

Yet, it is very clear to me that I won't participate on open RvR as I hate attacking newbies just because I have been attacked myself "back in the days" and also I want to evade *L€GoLaS* and ~Da_KiLLa_15~ as much as possible. :)

But what is your preference and why? An additional hint on your geographical location of your server would be nice as well...

Open RvR definitely. I have a thing for huge battles online, so RvR answered the call.

Open RvR is useless.
Not only can you not finish Tome Unlocks that you missed back when leveling up, there will be raiding parties of bored players out to kill anyone in their tier or lower tier.
Level 40 raiding parties killing everyone in tier 3 is boring.

There's no point to it.
Level 40 parties in Tier 3 RvR Fortress zones - again, boring!
There's just no reason for Open RvR in this game since it will just spread everyone even more than they are now, more focus needs to be brought to the RvR & Fortresses zones, I don't want to have my PQ ruined by a circle of jerks.

I'll play Core, though my friend pointed out that Core Roleplay usually has the more mature players and much less annoying kids than on either Open & Core.

I'm gonna play core if only because I'm not really into Actual RP whilst I'm online.

I'm pretty sure that you can only stick to your current tier. So level 40's in Tier 4 and so on. Or have they changed this? If so then..... bugger.

I will go with whatever a d.net guild decides. But would prefer core or RP.

Hmm I'm leaning towards RvR. As much killing as possible. Looks like we may need more guildleaders for the D.netters haha!

In all honesty it kind of fell apart. Dalamar is going to be in a guild for EU that he posted a link to. As for whether or not I'm still starting one, its kind of a toss up if there is enough interest for a RVR US guild. More then likely its going to come down to me being in a friends guild and anyone who wants to come, may.

Still open to ideas, feel free to PM.

I'll be going for an rp server. Me and a few friends will be starting out an Orc and goblin guild with the other races mixed in as well.

Khel the restriction on teirs is only for Open RvR servers so to avoid the high level players going back and killing questers. In the Core and Rp Core servers RvR can only take place in the flagged areas on the map where RvR quests are found this will ensure that players can quest withour interference from high level enemies.

Thats the main reason why I'm rolling Core server, the RvR isn't diminished at all only the stupid ganks in teir 1. As I heard teir 3 + 4 consist mostly of RvR areas anyway as it is the higher end of the game. Fine by me I abhor ganking personally.

They changed Open RvR Settings to allow you to go back to a lower tier.

Tier 4 players can go to Tier 3.
Tier 3 players can go to Tier 2.
etc

to 'have more time to see the content' without being forced into Chicken Mode.

Its not a smart way to do Open RvR.
So Core it is for me, plus instead of being spread everywhere, the RvR will happen in RvR zones! o; Also I noticed in the new patch, there are minimap popups when a conflict occurs while you're in RvR zone - this tells you where there's action happening.

In open RvR you can be attacked almost anywhere in the game by other players. Core you cant. On rp servers there are extra rules on how you behave as you are there to act and doas your character would, there are also naming policies on these servers. There all also open RvR- RP servers which is what I play on.
