Does anyone still play?

Post by Belial »

Well, we have multiple threads with roll calls and character lists, but in the past few months, WAR has been in steady decline, playerwise.

People are leaving for numerous reasons, and poor me has just reinstalled the game, and am returning after a few months off.

So the question is: who's still playing? C'mon, there's gotta be some d.netters out there who still wreak havoc upon the digital Old World?

I'm still playing, and always will :D granted it's not so much as I used to, my guild is moving to Aion and I'm with them, but I'm still finding time to log on and *enjoy* WAR. When I stop enjoying it I log off and do something else, no pressure like in some other MMOs (I'm looking at you WoW! <.<)

Can't tell you, as I have only played my healer alt, these past few days.
But I might log on as my main soon, and check it out.

I really hope the game hasn't died, I should be making a triumphant return soon enough in the next holidays. Guess I'll just have to see what's what on the Oceanic servers then.

I gave up because of those empty oceanic servers. Never enough players around for good team play and let's be honest; PvE is a tad repititious without friends. I would reccomend you join one of the bigger foreign servers and see if you can live with it unless performance becomes too compromised.

Tomb Kings is fun i havnt done too much with it yet but it looks cool. Im not the type to try and be the first to down sometthing, i wanna play the game for a while so why beat all the new content right away. And Im still trying to get my lost vale gear.

I've wanted to try WAR for awhile now, but I'm scared...very scared...I'm a recovering eq and eq2 addict, mmo's took many years from me that I'll never get back, and I'm terrified to think what would happen if I could be a druchii in one....

WAR, once you reach level cap really isn't time consuming.
There is no grinding. Rank 40 dungeons are on at least two day lockout and so on.

My computer can't handle the game properly even though I have the minimum spec asked, but I did enjoy it still, going through Tier 1 and 2 again with the 10 day "re-trial". I'll be playing more when I get a better computer or when they learn how to code properly for the specs they say is the minimum. Damn liars.

Eww no.
European Servers were doomed since day 1 when Mithic gave control over them to GoA, French company specialising in free to play mini-games >.>
They know squat about running an MMO.

It is a shame that the game died in the EU and Oceanic servers, noone got into it.

Oceanic are bundled with US servers and it still baffles me why MMO publishers seem to insist on separating continents lately.
Seriously, the internet is worldwide for a reason, people will flock to other people, and at the moment US servers are always the most populated. So as a rule even people from other continents, unless they're new to MMOs, will do what they can to play there as well.

I got into it for awhile but it just didnt live up to my expectations.
Just lacked alot of the depth from the original warhammer universe. I saw dark elf Corsairs and were deeply disappointed that Mythic couldnt be arsed to model a SDC.

Another big turn off for me was how pvp is too chained.
Daddy! I sorta kinda had an accident... I was playing with my slave and it sorta... Umm... It's arm fell off!

And its not like latency is that much an issue, when I played WoW, we had people from Australia, Scotland, Malaysia, Singapor, USA, Canada and I believe a few from other countries in Europe, all in the same guild on US Servers.

The actual problem is finding groups to play with at the usual play times for one region compared to another.

Take a WoW experiance of mine, if you will. I could really only play from 8-10pm on weekdays, I could join a guild but in order to raid (the entire point of the game) I would have to be up at 5am to catch a US guild raid time. It was rather inconvenient.

No matter what time I log in on US server there are always people there. If I log in too early or too late on EU server - it's dead.
And my work makes me log in past midnight usually... which means it's dead.
