Hello!
Hello I am new to Dark Elves, and pretty new to WFB this is technically my second army the army I started first was bretonnia which is the WORST army for a newblood like my self my friends recommended i swap to a newer army to learn the game so I'll play fantasy with them. Instead of playing 40k all the time. I have a Idea for a Black Ark themed list since who doesn't love pirates? and was wondering if i could get a little feed back. We Generally play 2500pts and The armies I fight are Usually Dwarfs lizardmen beastmen Vampires Tomb Kings and ogres Some times night goblins goblin spider riders skaven and chaos dwarfs. So every one in the group kind of themes their army so i went with pirates so here is my list go gentle on me.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
If you want to stick to the pirate theme then you have a pretty fluffy list going.
I won't tell you it is going to be ultra competitive, but you should certainly be able to have some fun with it.
If you want a little advice, maybe drop a unit of shards and split the other into two. Then just the points to get a couple of units of dark riders.
Good luck.

Welcome to the Navy and to Druchii.net!
Corsair themed armies have the army's worst choice: the Fleetmaster, nice model but a hero's stats.
Corsiars themselves can be played in a classic block of 25-30 AHW corsairs, FC.
A small unit of 10 RHB, muso can be very fun to play.
Some people had good results with a large unit of RHB corsairs in horde, but I am not sure about how it maintains in the present army book.
Dark Riders, Harpies, Shades and Warlock all fit the corsair theme and are extremely useful in a DE army.
Darkshards, RBT are excellent, too.
Together, they can make a reasonable army to play with, although not over the top.

Re: Hello!
I agree with the fleetmaster he cost wayyy to much and has a terrible stat line and you can't take enough equipment to make up for it so I use the model as my dread lord... I want to add some riders maybe and also maybe shades I'm doing some play testing later this week and am going to experiment with a few other units to see what I like

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Indeed, who doesn't love pirates? Do you plan to make a PLOG?
Its always interesting to see an army develop, especially ones with themes

Re: Hello!
The same as a Blog, put just painting. Paint log.
There is a sub forum for people to show the progress of their army as they model and paint it.

Re: Hello!
Howdy. You can also add scourge runner chariots, high beastlords, and shades to the mix and stay within a raiding fleet theme you have. Beastmaster constantly go out looking for monsters so why not join a corsair ship.
Shades are the scouts and sabotours of the dark elves so they could come along too if you wanted.
2 hand weapons go well with most situations; great weapons for dwarves definitely.
