Hello all. Pretty much what the title says.
Just started my dark elf army with 2 boxes of core warriors. Not sure what I want to build them as yet though, but im sure this forum will help me no end along with everything else I'll need to know.

Make Darkshards with those kits. The best core are Witch Elves, Dark Riders and Corsairs. Darkshards are excellent, but from my understanding their role is to support the units that make a difference and to control areas of the board.
From my understanding 3 kits of Witch Elves and a Cauldron of Blood is the best unit at the Dark Elves disposal. This costs $300 though. Corsairs are excellent and are resilient. My understanding is that in high point army lists you want the WE and CoB. In lower point lists where the point cost of that is not viable additional-hand-weapon Corsairs are much better. When fielding the WE & CoB, Corsairs with the hand crossbow are great for screening them. That means standing in front of the sexy witches and getting slaughtered to protect them.

Please correct me wise ones, I have less experience than the veterans here.

That is certainly one effective approach, but by no means is it the only one. Also note that you can do witches a lot cheaper if you're willing to look on eBay or at alternate manufacturers.

I also would do darkshards with your 2 starting boxes.

Welcome to the forums Ozzy! You'll find LOTS of helpful stuff on here, for army building, painting and modelling, and all points in between.

+1 to the Darkshards, in terms of on the table effectiveness, but not the case for every play style or back story! Have fun and I'd love to see what you produce!

In an case, welcome!
