two questions.

Post by Kennethloh »

Firstly, I plan to have my army traveling on land across the Old World so what would should I base my models with? I was thinking of sand and grass but it seems to give my models this... 'good guy on quest across beautiful grasslands' look and ruins the dark and menacing atmosphere I'm trying to create. Any ideas?

Second, what size base does a Dark Pegasus go on? (the official ruling please). And any ideas for a steed besides Morathi's Dark Pegasus? Something without wings please. I can't stand having wings on a horse-type mount.

Thanks

Under the new rules, the pegasus is a monster, so it must be in the big square base.

How about a black rocky surface for your bases?

Uhm... do you want a Dark Pegasus without wings? Or do you want a horse?

The old Morathi model (also mounted on a Pegasus) might be an option maybe?

a cool way to make gravel is to get some of those stryfoam beads used in beanbag chairs or the stuff used to make textured celings (popcorn celing)

or you can just gut your kid brothers beanie baby colection

For your bases it depends on the tables you'll play on bacause if you have black gravel on your bases and the table is with green grass it's not very realistic.

ManaLord's right, ur prob only gonna be playing on green grass type battlefields unless you make your own. GW has to make a battlefield that suits all races so usually they make it grass, i suggest using more sand than grass to give a slightly desolate look. you can use black gravel but to be honest I dont suggest it.

just my thoughts

I just use sand and static grass. works for pretty much anywhere.
My avatar is kind of hypocritical isnt it?

I had an idea a while ago for a sand base. To make it a bit more evil you could splash some red paint around to look like blood. It also gives the impression that you've taken ground and killed guys in the process. It is still an idea thou as I haven't be able to try it.
