The Battle Standard Bearer

Post by /\\//\ »

WHat model or models could be used to create a really striking bsb?
He will be on foot, wearing heavy armur and accompanying the black guard. However I don't want him to look to much like the black guard but have him as a sort of mini centrepiece.

There was a limited edition BSB on foot. You might be able to get him somewhere on the internet

If you are not using a unit of Executioners in your army, the Executioner Standard Bearer can fill this role very nicely.

But if you can get your hands on the Limited Edition Standard Bearer, I would suggest that.

I'd definately try to find the BSB that came with the army box set. Ebay would be a good place to look if nowhere else comes to mind.

and dont forget that the limited edition BSB is roughly a head taller than the plastic elves... and a little bit taller than black guards... imposing figure :)

You can also use the female Dark Eldar Lord.

You'd just have to replace staff and pistol with a standard and a Druchii-weapon.
I used this model and replaced the left hand -the one holding the pistol- with the hand of the corsair-champion pointing at the enemy.

I just finished making mine from the dark eldar lord model. I chopped off the pistol and used the top of a spear to make a blade and greenstuff to make a handle. I cut off the top of the staff and used brass rod to make the top of the standard. I think it came out great (for once)

Well in the end I used an old high elf phoenix guard model (forgive me  ) I cut off the blade of the halberd and attached the blade and half of the staff of the beastmaster on manticore's lance. I then added the normal banner cross from the DE Warriors set and painted my own banner. I painted the whole model in dark colours with some gold and silver armour to make it look less High elvsih. I think iyt came out really well but since I don't have a digital camera I cant show you.
