Mine are painted very bloody!
That makes them really stand out!
I even painted some drops of blood out of their mouths!
And their weapons are dripping with blood.
I think it's a unit you can make really extreme.

Sounds really nice. At this time my models are simple. No blood and gore yet. but witch elvesare definitely a unit you can do the whole blood, bones, head thing with

I paint my witch elves in a way very similar to the book. Since red is already a primary colour in the army, there was no need for me to paint blood on them. I do give highlights to their faces in a rather vain attemp (I admit) to make them look more youthful, etc. I do like to make the blades a bit darker and add a bit of green to them to give them that envenomed look.

I used pale flesh, with a little skull white for high lights. Big, black hair and blue/yellow army colors.
