When I bought my first unit my initial thought was "Here is a unit which will be quick and simple to paint" - why? 'coz it looks good anyway. Changed my mind now. I want to add more detail and I want them to stand out more.
Thought about modelling a hand weapon onto them and pennants onto the spears. I saw some really good stuff at the tourney. Jeppe Danne (Ithink that's right) had an awesome looking DE army and it set me to thinking.
Any ideas anyone or how do you do yours so I can maybe pinch ideas
Mine look the same as the rest of my armie : black with red armour...
As for your pennants, have a look at the command sprue of the warriors... pennants enough to attach to your spears.
The skull at the end of a chain from the same sprue can look good on them too.
Maybe you've got an unused old edition Chaos musician somewhere.
I've got a few of those and my Dark Elves all have/are going to have snake-like trumpets except for my Corsairs where the horn is one with the foot.
Maybe swap the spearblades with those of the Warriors sprues?
