Well I'd either use Malekith's Hand of Khaine or a Dark Eldar Archon's hand.

The chaos plastic powerfist has nice claws, as well as a cool pointing pose. Just file down some of the hard edges and get rid of the wiring and you're good to go.

Been awhile since I asked this one. :)

Are these fists left or right handed?

I wanted to use it to replace the sword arm on the Malus Darkblade model.

Will they work?

Freen, which set does the Chaos Power Fist come in (or is it a blister, and if so which one?)

Thanks guys!!

all power fists are left hand. I used Malus model, and cut out both arms, replaced the left arm with a powerfist and the right arm with a warrior arm. You can see him in the gallery, army section, army part 2. He's the guy on the manticore

Wouldn't the Avatar hand be too big?

Otherwise that sounds like an awesome idea. :D

I used the claw-hand thing from one of the Dark Eldar Lord models for the gauntlet (put it on the Malus model).

Unfortunately, it was right handed...I wanted to get rid of that stupid head (I hate that head  ). So, I cut off the sword and put the claw-gauntlet there. Then I cut the head out of the left arm, and cut it off where it joined the pauldron (sp?). Then I carefully put the sword into the left hand, and repositioned it. Now it looks like Malus is either preparing to stab the opponent, or just pointing (with the sword) at the big claw-gauntlet in a sort of "put it here" gesture. :D

I'll post some pics as soon as I get it painted (I'm still letting the green stuff dry tonight...gonna start painting tomorrow night after work), and I get access to a digital camera....which could be hard. :?

I think the avatar's hand is the best idea so far.........

About it being too big, not really. Cut it off at the wrist.

I havent actually done it, but the Necron Lord's claw thingy looks pretty cool, but lightweight, so fits in with the lithe druchii theme. Plus it's right handed.

I think that the second place winner of the canadian golden demon wh40k single model contest (Jen Haley's scourge sybarite) uses the necron lord's claw. It looks excellent on a elfy model and I think it would work well in fantasy.
You know we've got to find a way, to bring some lovin' here today-ee-ay.

I used a necron lord arm but with necron flayed one hand. The fingers positioned so that he's pointing. Looks very highbornish.

I'm confused.

Did you use the Flayed One had or the Necro Lord hand?

i would suggest staying away from a space marine power fist... it's plastic, but it will look crappy without HEAVY converting to take away those cords and whatnot. also, i think a huge fist isn't dark elven. A claw like malekith's left arm would do the trick perfectly, in my opinon.

Personally I don't see the gauntlet as having claws or anything on it but rather as a bigger fist! I used a chaos warrior's fist stuck on the arm of a normal dark elf warrior. I then painted the fist and the forearm armour gold to give the impression of a single piece of equipment.

Code: Select all

     _____
    /     \                                 _
   |       | _________Chaos Warrior Fist     |
    \     /                                  |_  Painted Gold
     |   |                                   |
     |   | __________Dark Elf Warrior Arm   _|
     |___|
     |   |______________________________ Painted Armour Colour

(Sorry but it's the best I can do without the neccassery equipment!!!)

EDIT: Should be a little better now! :) --- Thanee

No problem!

Anyways, my personal favorite is still the Necron Lord right hand, which looks so much like the gauntlet, Malekith is wearing on the picture in the book! Not that Malekith has anything to do with the Gauntlet of Power, but it looks just so sinister and evil!

Bye

I have been working on a conversion for my highborn for the past week. He wears the gauntlet, an enchanted shield and a heavy armour. he goes on the manticore. I made some hair for the manticore for him to sit on.

For the highborn, I used COK legs, cut the legs from the chainmail, to give an impression of movement. I added the torso from a warrior, left hand from a warrior, right armn from the warrior champion, cut the hand off and replaced it by the necron lord right hand. I added a high elf bare head, and sculpted a belt from green stuff. i'll post a pic in the gallery this afternoon.
