Modeling the Gauntlet
Just wanted to get some ideas of how to model the Gauntlet of Power.
All ideas welcome, and thanks in advance!!

Well I'd either use Malekith's Hand of Khaine or a Dark Eldar Archon's hand.

I used the claw-hand thing from one of the Dark Eldar Lord models for the gauntlet (put it on the Malus model).
Unfortunately, it was right handed...I wanted to get rid of that stupid head (I hate that head ). So, I cut off the sword and put the claw-gauntlet there. Then I cut the head out of the left arm, and cut it off where it joined the pauldron (sp?). Then I carefully put the sword into the left hand, and repositioned it. Now it looks like Malus is either preparing to stab the opponent, or just pointing (with the sword) at the big claw-gauntlet in a sort of "put it here" gesture.
I'll post some pics as soon as I get it painted (I'm still letting the green stuff dry tonight...gonna start painting tomorrow night after work), and I get access to a digital camera....which could be hard.

I havent actually done it, but the Necron Lord's claw thingy looks pretty cool, but lightweight, so fits in with the lithe druchii theme. Plus it's right handed.

I think that the second place winner of the canadian golden demon wh40k single model contest (Jen Haley's scourge sybarite) uses the necron lord's claw. It looks excellent on a elfy model and I think it would work well in fantasy.
You know we've got to find a way, to bring some lovin' here today-ee-ay.

Personally I don't see the gauntlet as having claws or anything on it but rather as a bigger fist! I used a chaos warrior's fist stuck on the arm of a normal dark elf warrior. I then painted the fist and the forearm armour gold to give the impression of a single piece of equipment.
(Sorry but it's the best I can do without the neccassery equipment!!!)
EDIT: Should be a little better now! --- Thanee

I have been working on a conversion for my highborn for the past week. He wears the gauntlet, an enchanted shield and a heavy armour. he goes on the manticore. I made some hair for the manticore for him to sit on.
For the highborn, I used COK legs, cut the legs from the chainmail, to give an impression of movement. I added the torso from a warrior, left hand from a warrior, right armn from the warrior champion, cut the hand off and replaced it by the necron lord right hand. I added a high elf bare head, and sculpted a belt from green stuff. i'll post a pic in the gallery this afternoon.
