OK, so I met GeOrc

Post by Dark Alliance »

Guys this dude is awesome.

Although he has not yet had time to finish the "Gary Elf" as he is such a perfectionist, he did bring some of his past Golden Daemon winning entries.

Quite simply the figures this guy produces are stunning, and seeing them in the flesh sends a tingle down your spine. I actually held that wonderful standard bearer he sculpted/converted which got him a silver in France and the Beastman hero standing on a rock.

I was also allowed a sneak preview of his entry for the German GD this coming weekend. I want that figure!!

Never doubt the painting ability of this man...

Never have, never will. ;)

I probably couldn't bring myself to touch a model that good for fear of dropping the thing!

I can't wait to see it live  Yes I'll be there :!: I was 3 years ago when He won gold in WHB unit od "Furies" and it was stunning.

Also I hope that's not 'monster' entry  My painting skill is IMO far not that high as Georc and many other painters and I have lack of time, but I want to try myself. My entry is nowhere else seen <by me> dark elf project so maybe You will see photos of this idea ;)
So GooD To Be EviL!!

unfortunatly I wasn´t able to get a trophy. After six years of succesful contests, this was the first time without a winning entry ;) But I´m very pleased with my work and I think it´s my best so far. I think it was bad luck, but take a look yourself to these sneak pics, my own pics will come this evening:

What do you mean you *didn't* get a trophy? O.o
Those other people must've paid the judges or something >.>

That was able to lose to something? Either they did indeed pay someone, or they are God.

Not to idly pile on the accolades, but that's beautiful work. The competition in Germany must be especially fierce, there's nothing on the GW website from the Toronto GD that holds a candle to that mini.
I've been to Middenheim,
I've been to Ulthuan,
I've been to Cathay too,
So what, so what
so what so what you boney little f***

Wow the model has come along great since the greens I saw on the thread a few months ago. Stopped following and now I see the finished (or almost) product and wow!

Many thanks for the nice words. It´s really motivating hear that you like this miniature after thus unpleasent competition. Here some pics of other entries and on the botton the winning entries:

Shame GeOrC, that you didn't win.
I can see why though.
Not because of your painting (I must admit at this laptop I can't see the details that well) but there are a lot of elaborate entries (the winner, but also the banners and the titan).

I must say, that the concepts are nice at this GD.
Special LoL at the trolls.
Never know what to do next, you might surprise yourself

At least, if I'm seeing this right, Dark Elf entry won the Slayer Sword and that's how it should be ;)
