Throne Of Skulls January Preparation- 2k Dark Elves

Post by Jimwilly »

Hey Guys and Gals,

I think ive done the image sizing thing right but i have never used photobucket before so if its wrong i didnt mean to cause any offence, i did take the time to read the 'rules' just let me know if its wrong and i will take them off and try again.

So thought i would do a PLOG to get some opinions on my current progress, unfortunatly i am absolutly useless with green stuff so most models are as they come out of the packet lol. Any way this is what i have done or nearly done so far, you can find my GT list in the army list section :)

Close up of Spearmen Lordling

Birds Eye View of regiment, still a few bases to finish and some shields to add, and the movement tray to do

A bit of a unit filler, Just needs a shield now

Half of the Black Guard

The first Hydras Beastmasters ( bit shiny )

So thats most of whats ready to go, will put some other bits up in the next few days, C&C welcome but because ive done quite a chunk already i doubt you will see any major changes in the colour scheme, but still let me know what you think for any future armies i do :D.

Also anyone have ideas for the shades, as i want them dark but still to fit in with the force???

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

The Good
You have a cohesive scheme that you've matched across different units and is easy for the rest of us to understand. Your unit filler is a fun addition too. Your painting is consistantly good with some nice subtle shading for added detail.

The Bad
Nothing really.

It looks like, when you're all done, you'll have a nicely painted army to field. Nothing is overly done and you've easily met the tabletop quality standard. I give it a thumbs up so far!!

They do look good, especially the black guard, may need more photos of the unit filler ;)

As for the shades, if you do the cloth hanging from the belt the colour of the armour edges, but a bit darker, and do the cloak the colour of the cloth on the warriors (looks like green to me? sorry if im wrong).

Hope this gives some ideas.

Also your photo-fu passes. Dig the lacquered effect, I had wondered what that would look like on Druchii armour.
