BaneBeast's new Hydra

Post by Darkmark »

Hi,
Just noticed Banebeasts have put a new hydra up for pre-order. I think its a nice alternative to GW's offering, and great if you don't like great big metal models as its resin!

Have a look here:

Not bad, makes me think of the Kracken from the original C.O.T.

Hi, well not bad, really.
Would probably benefit form a more naturalistic paint job than GW one(that, however, i still like as a model). Do you know if size is compatible?

It says that the base is 50mmx100mm, so it'll be fine.

Has a lot more meat on it. Like it wasn't anorexic like GW's. Looks as though the cost is similar in price though.

I like that it has more meat but I think a bit hoop much esp. on the necks.

That is incredible! I don't go much on the paintjob, but the model itself is spanking. I might have to put in an order whilst the dollar is so strong. $50 AU is really cheap, considering a GW hydra is almost a hundred.

It definitely gives off a presence of strength and power. I also like some of the other banebeast models. Chimeras for people who use lore of life, the cyclopes for a beastman cygor; 2 monsters for skaven; even a great unlceanone.

doesn´t like it either... IMHO it lacks more detail, the heads look too simple..and the claws a bit rough.

for me the new GW is ok but the heads

I'm assuming this is a metal model with the same pain of attaching the necks but a little variety in the hydra's would be nice when playing more than one

Me, I like it. I don't do detail for detail's sake. Privateer Press learned me to hate that. This thing looks like my mental image of a Hydra so I like it.
