grey skin
hey guys
ive been wondering how you paint that grey skin most of you use.
i use elf flesh wich is ok but i would prefer the grey, unfortunatly as i'm not a grand painter i dont realy have a clue how to do it so if you guys could give me some hints i would love to try the "new" skin tone.
thanx for the help

I do gray skin on my elves, and this is how I do it:
Basecoat with the Privateer Press P3 color Greatcoat Gray. Lighten very slightly with white to make a highlight color, and repeat adding white and highlighting until it is a very light gray (I do 3 layers of highlights). Shade the eye sockets, mouth, spaces between fingers, and other recesses with watered-down Badab Black wash. Use a brush to carefully apply only to the recesses -- don't do an all-over wash.
That's it.

Keep in mind when painting that it is much easier to shade something than it is to brighten. Start with a base that is 90% of the lightest skin you'll have on the model and shade from there.
Are you wanting to paint your models with grey shaded skin or grey skin? Because "grey" skin often looks a lot worse than poorly painted pale skin. Just a fair warning models come out looking like "mud people" so you might be setting yourself up for failure.

you can try mixing shadow grey with elf flesh, and then mix in more and more elf flesh for highlights. this will give a very cool grey skin color.

Good advice above.
I think you avoid that problem by using elf flesh (whodathought?) in your mix and adding more EF for your highlights. My easy grey DE skin tone has always been codex grey with elf flesh as the base and additional EF added for highlights with a final bit of bleached bone added for the extremes.
That's silly! Playin with little statues, pretendin' they're fightin'! Why not just round up a bunch of real goblins and lettem' whack it out?
