Monsters can be pretty too.

Post by Wrathbaby »

Looking for some inspiration for painting my monsters. About to finish assembling my second hydra (that makes it 2 hydras, a kharibdyss and a dragon so far) and I'm hoping to get started with a bit of painting sometime soon. My army hasn't got much of a colour scheme as the only unit larger than 5 models in my 2400 point list is 30 witches, so I'm not entirely sure how to paint my monsters. I'm fairly certain that I want them all to be differently coloured, but I'm considering swapping the witches for corsairs and going for a sea themed army meaning that dark blues/greens/greys could be a good idea.

Anyway, if anyone has seen a well painted hydra or two anywhere on the internet, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share it here :)

A good paint job can really make a lot of difference on a large model.

I'm a particular fan of this (now old skool) Hydra:

and this one...

Okay that flame breath thing is just cool. Any idea how that was done?
Also quite like the colours on the first one, might go for a similar sort of thing with one of mine. Probably use a darker greeny blue though.

You can discover the awesomeness of that army and how it was done on this thread:

Oh wow, I didn't respond to this! I could swear I had. Sorry about that, T.D :) Thanks for the link, I did take a look at it when you replied. Must've just forgotten to comment on it after that :')

Sadly enough Blackphantom, I can't see the pics :( although I'm sure the guide will be a fair bit of help regardless, thanks :)
