@XFallenx just under five weeks left.

I have the following yet to finish.
- Main board
- 20 Witch Elves
- Charnel Pit
- Altar of Khaine

I think its going to be very close, down to the line to get it all done - I under estimated how long the board would take.

That tower is a great piece.

I'd like to see some more detailed pics of the figures, too.

A few more updates - the clock is ticking down and I am madly trying to finish this off !eek!

Image

Filled in all the gaps with Polyfiller and made the cut out sections for the units a bit tighter.

Image

A quick base coat - really important to make sure the polystyrene is sealed before spraying

Image

Drybrush and more drubrush

Image

Finally got some flock on to it and have sealed it all with a matt spray - now onto the water effects.

Almost finished the board - just have a unit of 20 witch elves to finish painting and then a tidy up of it all.

Getting close now, once it is complete I will post up close up shots of the board and all the units.

certainly impressive! well done.

Makes me want to have a go of armies on parade at some point. What will you be using for your water effects?

@leesmith I have been using Citadel Water Effects for flat water (works well) and Vallejo water effects for more rippled water (lets me sculpt more definition) Both require a lot of patience between dry times. For the water falls I have painted this directly on to clear plastic sheet (from take away container).

I could not recommend more highly giving this comp a go in your local store - it has been a great experience and I have learnt a lot from putting this together.

Yeah, it does sound fun.

I will have to try them, I have got a product I have used for creating ice shards and icicles etc around here.....

Ahhh I have citadel water effects and a tub of "gel denso" from Vallejo is that the stuff? I use it for icicles and it works great for that.

@leesmith Parade day is not until the 28th of this month - so only another week or so to get it finished.

I am currently putting the final touches on a unit of 20 Witch Elves then there will be lots of photos to come of the finished board and units.

Very nice

No volcanoes, but epic lightning!

I really think you got the balance pretty much to perfection on the final layout down; the eye is drawn from top right, to top left, to the centre, to the foreground - and all of the main elements are quality. The board space is fully utilised yet not cluttered, and every element is purposeful and sinister; both individually and when taken together as a whole.

Love your attention to detail and some of the finer conversion aspects, such as the bootylicious standard bearer!

Wishing you good luck for the parade 8)

It's amazing! I love your Executioner's sacrificial altar! Also the paintjob on the last picture - that light is amazing.

Excellent work!

Spectacular. The only thing I wouldn't have done is to add the foliage to those GW trees. It never looks right, I find they look much better when left bare, especially considering the theme of your board.

I'm confidently looking forward to seeing these pictures in White Dwarf in a month or two.

Hi Guys - Woo Hoo - I won gold at the store level, now on to the Nationals at the end of October.

Thanks for all the support, it has been a major effort to get this done, but very rewarding. I could not recommend more highly for everyone to give it a try.

I mean WHOA!!!! :D Seriously mate, that is one sweeeeeeet display board!

I'm really loving the Executioners, always had a soft spot for them. The colours really complement each other on the models and the models stand out from the board quite nicely. The sacrificial altar is also a favourite bit on the board.

Is the floor of the tower also using magnets? The bit that hides the stairs to the lower levels?

Keep up the good work! :D

Amazing work! Did you adjust saturation on the photos though? The colors are really sharp and hurt my eyes a little.
Still the work is superb! I just wish I had the willpower to get on with my own display board project.

@Dalamar - I adjusted the images in photoshop a bit, I think the colours are fairly accurate to how the board is (perhaps a tad lighter).

@Loran - no, I cut the round section out of the centre of the base and it just sits on a couple of plastic spru pins I glued in place.

@Gnosis - Yeh I thought about that after I took the photos :( The foliage clips on to the trees using rare earth magnets so can easily be removed. Might take some more photos without if I get the time.

@XFallen - not sure what is next. I have been toying about with a couple of units of stunties to take my mind off DE for a while but all the new minis have given me the DE bug again.

Thanks for all the comments guys - I will post some individual unit shots up hopefully later in the week.
