Ill try to get em up asap Errdrigar :D girlfriend wants to take the pictures for me but shes a perfectionist when it comes to that  kinda like me when it comes to my Minis :P
In my eyes i havent finished it yet, but i feel that adding anything more would destroy the model.

Put my guy up. Not going to win, but it was fan and a good excuse to start painting Dark Elves again.

I see no reason to assume you can't - your model looks great, and the freehand work on the banner is outstanding.

Well, to be clear, I didn't say you didn't have stout competition. I just said you shouldn't assume you have no chance. :)

Also note that CultofKhaine is ineligible to win, because he's one of the mods.

Looking sharp! I like the color pallette on the cold one particularly.

Let's go with mine: Vidialeth, the Night Shadow:

Image

It' has been a difficult miniature. I've had spent a lot of hours to repair some problems, such as the weapons, which were really thin.

I made some freehands on both sides of the cloak, and practice a lot with the skin and the NMM (one of them in the cloak). I outlined everything, following some advices from previous DE miniatures.

Unfortunately I'm not a good photographer, so some parts have unwished highlights caused by the light. On the other hand, I tried to do the frontside and backside photos the best as I could. I believe I've managed it.

Hope you like it guys, and good luck!

Now, it's time to kill my enemies with it in the Arena!

Errdrigar wrote:@Blydz: You've turned a nice mini into an excellent one. The only detail I would consider to improve is that gold layer on the shoulders. It looks a bit thick for me but maybe it's just an impression or fault of a photo.

Yeah, I also saw this.
It is not completely the photo which is in question.
The model is lead, and faces on shoulders have very fine details which hang on very well the light (as on the photo "Before"), but are fast submerged by the painting.

They were lost well before the layer of gold, regrettably. :(

Only a few hours left to get your entry in before the competition thread is locked - I would hate for anyone to miss out on entering this great comp. If you still plan to enter get a wriggle on and post your photos.

Sorry, I wans't active because my laptop got broken and I stil couldn't spent much time online, only couple minutes at work :(

This is my entry, I want to make glowing rune at first, but I saw Yours works and freehands and I got motivated to try my best. Name of Crimson Death give me hint, and I want to paint something like Marvel's Carnage on it, hope You like it. I'll try to post some more photos ASAP I have time at work.

The strands of congealing blood are a really cool touch, and the freehand on the blade is top notch too. Very nice.

And the winner is...

I absolutely love the belly on the tiny dragon. That detail to me just does SO much for this model. And the pink as well, perfect contrast.

Wow.
