Going for a Master on a chariot, inspired by the responses I got from my thread on "Does anyone use chariots", now I want to run a 3 chariot list!
For this model I am ditching the second crew woman - dark elves don't like to share 8)
I like the old metal chariot shape, but prefer the new cold ones - easily fixed.

Took another photo of the model using a new camera and took it in the sun. It shows the colour a more true to the original and you can see where I tried to paint in the shadow under the Cold Ones and the Chariot a bit better.

Here I show some details that cannot be appreciated cause of the anatomy of the figure (the cloak produce some shadows and hides the details (hope it counts as 1 photo all toghether):
Cloack and body details
ImageImageImage

DESCRIPTION:
It' has been a difficult miniature. I've had spent a lot of hours to repair some problems, such as the weapons, which were really thin.

I made some freehands on both sides of the cloak, and practice a lot with the skin and the NMM (one of them in the cloak). I outlined everything, following some advices from previous DE miniatures.

Unfortunately I'm not a good photographer, so some parts have unwished highlights caused by the light. On the other hand, I tried to do the frontside and backside photos the best as I could. I believe I've managed it.

Hope you like it guys, and good luck!

Now, it's time to kill my enemies with it in the Arena!

Not a LOT of converting here. I swapped out the bird wings on the helm for more Dark Elf-like dragon wings, and removed the flowing cloak from behind the saddle (I just didn't like it that much).

Of course, the lance has been converted with the Empire death-banner, I also swapped the hammer from the to if it to a halberd to make it more DE.

Voted Dyvim tvar, one of the reasons is that the overall (palette) look of the model is really nice and consistent, good colours, the metals look great, as does the freehand banner.

For me, it was between him and Kreol, and the freehand on the banner just sits more naturally for me. It was a tough choice though, both models are awesome, and to be very proud of.

This was a difficult choice! I'll keep my vote a secret but I will offer some insight to what I saw:

CitizenKhaine, Good conversion work between old and new models, it looks seamless. The paint on the Cold Ones looks great.
Kreol, The Crimson Death really looks amazing, its an awesome representation of Kouran in my opinion.
Dalamar, Very dynamic model, I love the look of his armor and how it contrasts/strengthens his wizard nature.
Rakariel, Great Conversion and paint scheme, a stunning take on a pegasus lord. Very commanding.
Faeli-n, Amazing paint job. Very photorealistic. The conversion ties the model together.
Payce, Beautiful model with great conversion work. Really breaks the male Dreadlord sterotype.
Dyvim Tvar - Very well painted, particularly the banner.

Great work to everyone! I wish I could have even one model of your quality in my army! Good luck!

My criteria: Wow!
Kreol has achieved it. NMM armour, very creative freehand on the halbard, flawless painting quality.

There were other great conpetitors.
CitizenKhaine: Good job!
Khaleth Blackheart: great conversion.
Blydz: compliments for the work.
Cultofkhaine: Impressive conversion! The paint on the cape might be sort of too neat, though.

Rakariel gets my vote :) love the pose and the free hand banner is excellent, as well as the neat job of the paint work.
Very hard decision though, everyone has done an outstanding job and should be proud of their work.

Lots of really nice work here. Here are my thoughts:

Rakariel's entry is very nice with the expression on the character being particularly evocative.
Faeli-n has done a perfect rendering of the monster. I think it could have benefited from a close up shot of the rider so we could see the paint work a bit better. I'm guessing that it was also excellent.
Payce gets a mention for excellent conversion work (and because I am rather partial to chicks leading Dark Elf armies :D ). I dig the figure quite a bit.
Dyvim Tvar's figure is really nice as well. The banner is beautiful.

I had to vote for only one, however and I had to go with Kreol. Really superb work on this figure. Sounds like the Crimson Death was made from card, which is not easy to do well and it looks great. The metals are excellent, the colors work well together and generally speaking, the figure is really top notch.

Well done to everyone!

Oh, boy! Which one to choose now?

My first choice would be Cultofkhaine's entry due to it's overall awesomeness BUT since he's a moderator I'll try to choose something else.

First of all everyone's entries are perfectly painted. You all belong to the Masters category and that's reward by itself.
Now, I'm torn between Khaleth Blackheart's, Kreol's, Dyvim tvar's and Rakariel's entries. Since I like things complicated I'll limit my choices to Khaleth Blackheart's and Rakariel's entries.

I'll go for Rakariel's entry. I feel like the painting is a little bit more professional than Khaleth Blackheart's. The banner, the gold parts, the horse, the face, the sea dragon cloak, all were painted perfectly. Only two things I didn't like that much: the sea dragon cloak (the item, not the painting), Khaleth's is fuller, and the horse (again the item, not the painting), as I like the new Dark Steeds more than Gamezone's horses (even with their teeth untrimmed). Again, it was a close call and I had to look at both entries for some time before I had to decide who to choose.

After looking at all the finished models I voted for Kreol

Kreol - beautiful paint on the armour and the executioners axe is amazing
Dyvim tvar - really nice freehand banner and realisitic base
Payce - dynamic model and using natural green hues for the robes
Faeli-n - realistic looking bird and dark menancing colours for the rider
Errdrigar - unique model and very colourful
Rakariel - actually looks like it is flying, great face painting
Dalamar - fits in well with the Drow look, great spell book
Blydz - great rendition of the bladewind spell - improved a lot during the process
1_Epsilon_1 - great looking female assassin, stunning cloak - I want one
Khaleth Blackheart - great pegasus - the details on it as effective
Citizen Khaine - well it is mine so I love it :) particularly the cold ones
Watchmaster - dynamic model - the armour looks like animal scale
You're one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan - Designed and directed by his red right hand - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (channeling Khaine)

I got 2 votes -- I'm happy.

Very close, but I think I like Kreol's model a little better than Faeli-n's entry. Love the Griffin, but wish the rider weren't quite so dark.

20 competitors in both categories and only 20 votes here so far - seems a bit disappointing. Where are all d.netters ? I hope they will cast their votes before closing.

For me, a time and effort put in preparing and customising a model before painting is as valuable as painting itself. And deserves an appreciation. Therefore I was hesitating between Cultofkhaine's, Khaleth's/Rakariel's and Blydz's entries. But in the end, my vote went to Cultofkhaine - for an epicness of his model and a sort of a 'thank you' for organising this contest.

Nevertheless all of you did great and it was a pleasure to participate.
