The only GW mini sold this way is a pewter model, and I'm not too interested in it.
Any ideas / examples of how to make a few of these guys? I'd like to be able to try the Warlock/Dark Rider bus tactic, but I'd like to have some decent models first. Any simple kit swaps from other armies, or some other brand minis? Preferably I'd like to make 3 of these guys, and I'd like them to be at least somewhat unique (i.e. not three of the exact same model).
Appreciate any suggestions!

Re: Master/Dreadlord on Dark Steed Conversion?
The easy approach is just to use existing elf steeds i.e. new Dark Riders, Wood Elf glade riders, or any of the high elf cavalry.
Then just stick a Dark Elf torso on top i.e. Cold One Knights (or Dragon Dreadlord/Charioteers) or Dark Eldar or Corsairs, etc from ebay bits sellers. New Dark Riders are trickier with their weird body/leg joins, but Glade Riders straightforward.
Et Voila!

If you got the cold one chariot you could shave off the hitch from the dark steed saddle and boom you have a rideable horse

This is by far the best option.
You can even pick up loose steeds on eBay.
