There's another one that's doing roughly the same thing, and also started with a Kickstarter drive. It's further along in the process, and the output looks AMAZING, but the downside is that it is much more expensive. $25 per mini at 28mm scale.
I wouldn't pay that much for a mini personally, but I know there are those who would, and if you have an all-time favorite D&D character that nobody makes a mini that's good enough for you, I suppose I could see it as a splurge.
Another neat thing about 3D printing is that it offers some poses that can't be done the old mold way. The chain on a flail, for instance, is actually a working chain that you can move each link on. You also don't have to deal with mold lines presumably.

https://www.heroforge.com/Even if you never buy a mini, it's really fun (for me at least) to play around with the creator software and customize your own guys. Hopefully over time they'll be able to improve the process and cut some costs. Because right now it's just not an option for me.
