Alternative Assassin model?

Post by McFreddie »

Hi guys!

I need to get a hold of a nice assassin model, as I don't like the shadowblade model that seems to be the only one in stock in my local stores :)
Do you guys know of any other suitable models to use? - or do you have any pictures of conversion that you've done or heard about, I'd really appreciate any input :)

I just used an old oop wood elf archer with a hydra gauntlet from the dark eldar wyches for one of mine, I imagine that some of the wood elf plastics would be ok too, maybe wild wood rangers with dark eldar arms?
For us, there is no longer the druchii, the asur and the asrai; now there are only the Asdra; The Laughing Ones.

Good call.

Lots of nice ways to combine Woody and Dark Eldar plastics. Myles on this forum did a great conversion a while back using DE;

(If you dont want to greenstuff, just use a cloak from the new Dark Riders or somewhere and Dark Eldar bits from ebay).

This is another nice one based on Glade Guard parts:

Just stripped an old Aenur Sword of Twilight model from Mordheim, he's going to be my third assassin for my HOTEK army, looks quite nice as an assassin.

So in the end I used an OOP Wood Elf archer with a hydra gauntlet, the old metal Dark Elf assassin with the cleaver looking knife who gets the other hydra gauntlet and Aenur, who I may end up using as a Shadowblade proxy from time to time.

Perhaps e-bay can offer some of the old models:

I think there are more models. Perhaps some shops still have some in stock.

I made this assassin a while back for my army, but I have yet to paint him.
He is kitbashed from a Dark Eldar Mandrake and some corsair parts. My greenstuff skills are not too good yet :p
Sorry about the poor image quality, I took the pictures with my camera.

Thank you, I always liked the mandrakes and using them as assassins just felt right.
