Black Guard alternative models & Witch Elf query

Post by Blickwither »

I'm using Wildwood Rangers (painted up DARK like!) for my executioners, as the hoods fit my Cthulhu cult theme much better.

So... what to use for Black Guard? Any suggestions?

Also... Witch Elves are absurdly overpriced for a core unit... anybody got any suggestions on where I might look for alternatives?

Hmm not sure about BG

For witches have you looked at Raging Heroes or Avatars of War - they have some fairly cool models at cheaper prices.

I've seen people convert Phoenix Guard to Black Guard. There's the old Black Guard models. Hm. If it's just the heads, though, perhaps the hoodies from the Dark Rider kit might please you?

Dark Rider kits have spare helmets, so the hoods might be around on e-bay or bit trader sites.

Cheers guys much appreciated, will look into those Pheonix Guard...

I will have 10 cowled heads from the Dark Riders left from my 2x Doomfire Warlocks units, but I'm going to be using them to convert some Corsairs into Shades.

I think the Wildwood Ranger hooded heads are still better though. Could maybe see about getting hold of some metal or plastic halberd pieces and putting them on the WW Ranger kit...

I would use standard bg minis with the wild wood ranger heads. That's what I'm planning for my executioner units.
I am the Silent Wind of Doom... Whoosh!
