In the spirit of discussion on how to build scenery rather than games system, there is a picture driven tutorial on how to build an interesting looking building 'Dwarven fish farm' in the magazine in the below link. I think this looks like it could be the basis of many a simple tower like structure though.

Nice find Amboadine - I have always wanted to use some of that high density foam (but could never find where to get it. I recently acquired a small piece from my local GW for free so will have to give something like this a try.
