Other things in other places

Post by Layne »

Hello Dnets,

I would like to be able tell you that this is some sort of Rose of Nagarythe or Mongoblins update but it isn't... although I have been working on Mongoblins so, if you like watching spaces, and if you're reading a forum then I assume you do... watch this space.

What this is, is a post to point out that I have mostly been working on Napoleonics lately. Instead of starting yet another Warseer thread, or cluttering dnet with something completely irrelevant, I thought I would point any interested parties in the direction of my wordpress blog.

Happy modelling peeps.

Looking good - I'm not a 15/18mm guy myself and I don't follow other hobbyists in the scale too much either, but these are definitely some very lovely Austrians. Napoleonics - the queen of wargaming eras!

Good to see you still active in the hobby Layne - hopefully we can tempt you back to the dark side some time soon

Thanks G, Napoleonics definitely are the best historical wargames era. I once read about the age of Napoleon being considered 'the golden age of military uniforms' and I don't suppose it will ever be topped. I think I can safely say you inspired me to jump in to this, so I'm glad to see you here [and there].

Cultofkhaine, you have kept the forum that I [and of course Gnosis before me] moderated in fine fettle. More power to you and thanks for checking in. I don't see myself doing much Dark Elf stuff anytime soon, although I do have a Cauldron, Dragon, Black Guard, and Cold One Knights in progress since... whenever it was. A while.

There have been other goings on as well, see separate thread for details.

Aww, shucks...

But if you like the minutiae of uniforms, try and look into the War of the Spanish Succession or Marlburian era of warfare. You'll have a colour scheme test for every unit ;)

I do like the minutiae of uniforms... what are you trying to do to me? I still haven't finished Mongoblins, or Dark Elves, or anything else I started.

Well, I painted 255 minis since mid-May, which I make out is a slightly better completion rate than your 600 all year, so any poo in all this goes on you :) .
