I can't help it.. I really like this army. If I could just finish a few models for my Bloodbound to finish it, I could.. I could go nuts on it! That's it! I'm finishing my Bloodbound army to make room on the paint table for the Witch Aelves.

I'm just going to leave this here and then swim away quickly... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7AcOAbaO4o(Yeah, screw Daughters of Khaine. My new AoS army is going to be the Idoneth Deepkin.)

Mind Blown I feel like a kid again giddy with excitement - how friggen cool do they look!!!! This release was a total surprise! I really did not want to collect a new DE army (got to many already to paint) but this is very tempting - they look so good!

I'm especially pleased that every unit appears to have a good mix of male and female models. Maybe GW really are serious about increasing female representation in their games?
Also, I can see loads of bits with conversion potential for my Slaanesh mortals army.

Wow you can certainly see the mix of high and dark elves in there. The armour design is very nice. They have done well here.
Im not too sure about the sea creatures flying though, but hey, why not?

OK, after analysis of these superb models, the biggest problem I see with them is their name: They should not be named "Deepkin" but "SurfaceKin". Reasons: - the dress accessories carried by the Lord with the trident and seacape, the Lord on the seahorse, the Lady in armor, the Turtle driver: all four have an accessory behind the headd which would drag, which is fine in the air, but very wrongly anti hydrodynamical. Kind of accessories which cannot possibly be worn in the depth. - the pen of the octopus' priestess: ink does not work below water - music instruments: the tube bells of the male sorcerer, the drummer on the back of the turtle, could not vibrate under the water.
Now, when looking at the video again and imagining the sea level to arrive to all model's waist, it works great.
I could enlist them in my pirate's army, to escort the ships and help land ashore. I would not use them to explore the abysses.

The rumour is that their magic allows them to create areas that are somehow both water and air at once, so they can breathe and walk around and blow warhorns and so on, but their fishy mounts can still swim and use their gills.
Basically, "We're (a)elves, we tell the laws of physics to sit down and shut up!"

Some more pics... The water cloak guy (wonderful model IMO) is apparently Eidolon (Avatar) of Mathlann.
