Surrealism?

Post by Yokozuna »

Who of these people are most surreal? Or are there others that I have left out that could have been on the list?

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy for only 5 Tolarian Dollars a day ;-) some crazy tale of Earth getting demolished for a hyperspace bypass... one earthling escapes and the fun beginzzz

The Discworld is a world, well... in the form odf a disc, standing on 4 elephants who stand on the great A'Tuin, a turtle that swimw through space. Scientists are trying to figure of if the turtle is male or female (you never know when mating season is coming along ;) )

A world full of wizards, a thieves guild, an assassins guild, dragons, vampires, trolls in other words all a fantasy heart can wish for add to that a good sense of humour and ther you go

The Far Side is the only surreal writer of the three

I discovered The Far Side on my first ever trip to the states and have been hooked ever since. Excellent, surreal, but excellent.

Oh and Linda thanks for explaining that for me

Douglas Adams-Author of HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy-quite possibly one of the funniest people in the world.

Gary Larson: Author of the Comic The far Side. Very funny Stuff.

Other one: Not really sure.

True, art is art. Still, on the other hand, water is water ! And east is east and west is west and if you take a whole load of cranberries and stew them like applesause it'll taste a hell of a lot more like prunes than rubarb does ! Now...uhh...now tell me what you know...

(PS. Whats this thread about ?)
...And so it came to pass that the foul elf known as DEKHALAN CHILLWIND invaded our fair shores. This fiend began a campaign of killings, rapings, lootings, enslavings and burnings, sparing neither age nor sex...

YAY! I did a book talk on Men-At-Arms today, it was a real success! New book must buy... I'm going to see Maskerade in the theater tomorrow and then next week I'm gonna see Mort

Sureal - DON'T read The Colour of Magic or The Light Fantastic as they are undoubtedly his two worst books

For anyone wanting to get into Discworld, do they need to read the first book, or can you just pick the story up?

Damn it, I had an old girlfriend who was into this but I wasn't at the time.
