Bolt Throwers and Character Walls

If a single bolt from a bolt thrower hits a rank comprised of only characters in a unit with 5 or more rank and file troops does the character that is randomly hit receive a look out sir roll?

Well, there's no "Look Out, Sir" for Bolt Throwers, which is not a template weapon (as opposed to Cannons or mortars which are template weapons).
Here, p.111 applies (top left column):
"If the rank hit by the bolt is made entierly of characters & champions, of if the total number of R&F models in the unit is less than 5, it will be necessary to randomize which model in the rank is hit".

That's why shooting Bretonnian lances was so beautiful back when they had the wedge formation - they were forced to put a character in the front, no choice about it.
