Final Trans and the stupid test

Post by Olliewood »

I ran into an interesting scenario last weekend at a local tournament. My opponent successfully cast Final Trans but didn't end up doing any wounds to my unit. The question became "Do I have to test for stupidity for units within 12 inches?". RAW would suggest yes - is there an errata on this anywhere that anyone knows of?
Cheers,

RAW: Yes, you must take the leadership test regardless of wounds or casualties. Supposedly, maybe some clothing or weapons got turned to gold even though the actual living organisms resisted the spell. I do not think this has been faq'ed anywhere.

Also, most spells that have an additional effect if they cause one or more Wounds (such as Chillwind) expressly state that the effect only triggers if the conditions are met.

Final Transmutation includes no such proviso, so it's safe to conclude that RAW = RAI here when no damage is caused. No-one has to die for people to be distracted by the shiny.
