Re: Dark Elf Corsair Ship
I have checked the entire thread and i'm seriously amazed at the superb job you did with this ship.
I'm also quite jealous, because i have to less motor skills than Stephen Hawkings; so me doing this stuff is utopic xD

Killing is no fun, for me.
A dead person, feels no pain, no suffering.
Death is my gift, to enemies worth of my sword.
The rest will know the true definition of agony.
And i will make damn sure they live long enough to learn it.

Why do you think I give advice but hardly ever show anything I do myself?Ramza1987 wrote:I'm also quite jealous, because i have to less motor skills than Stephen Hawkings; so me doing this stuff is utopic xD
Everyone is good at something, let's praise others with their own talent and concentrate on what we can achieve.
As the saying tells, those good at something do it,
those who aren't teach it,
those who can't teach it teach the teachers...

I'm very good at being a bad example. For now

Yes can't believe I'm up to painting it.
It is a bit different to painting a mini, they are easy to hold and angle, this is a real bugger, especially trying to get into all the door recesses.
It actually looks a lot darker in real life, the wood texture once the wash goes over the grain looks near black almost.

That ship is just incredible! I just love the attention to all the small details. That's what really sets this apart from all others I've ever seen - including the ones that have been featured in White Dwarf over the years... Really exemplary work!

Re: Dark Elf Corsair Ship
Well it has taken a while to get to this point - I did not think that painting this would take so long but with real life in the way it has become quite the project.
I am almost finished, I just have some crew to paint up over the next couple of weeks until I can say it is completely done! Anyway here are a couple of quick snaps to WOW you all with, once the crew are painted I will take some more professional photos with better lighting and lots of close ups.

Stunning!
The general look is agile and aggressive, it suits perfectly the DE spirit.
Kudos!

I noted that the anchor was removed. If ever you put it back, remember to place it in the front of the ship, not the aft.
There might be one very minor detail which would benefit from an easy rectification: the two sails' lower extremities should not be linked together by a rope, each should get its own up to the hull.
Yes, I'm telling that you're "that" close to perfection!

Re: Dark Elf Corsair Ship
Thanks guys for all the great feedback - it is very satisfying to have finally pulled it all together and be able to share it with you all.
I have some crew members to paint up in the next couple of weeks and then I will post up lots of close up pics for you all to have a look at.
@Calisson, this can be done very easily. I think the rope you are referring to is not currently fixed, and I have moved it to the side hull.
@Sabiuos, funny you should bring that up - I was thinking that I would let the community decide on a name for her.... any thoughts? perhaps we could have a poll on it.

I can provide a Drukh-Eltharin translation for any name people want, BTW.

Nothing to add that others haven't already - it's outstanding and I wish I could do it. Just because you gave very good instructions doesn't mean that anybody could follow them with that amount of success you have. Well done to you sir.

BTW I would love to see that ship filled with a battery of around 6 RBT, how much more awesome should that look than any stinky human cannon ship

@Cultofkhaine - that's a bloody masterpiece... I love every single detail of this ship. Can't wait to see it with crewmembers.
