[PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves
Hello again!
As the title says, this project log will be my attempt to paint a dark elf team for bloodbowl in a timely manner with pics to show the progress.
The local store is going to run a BB league so I might post match results as soon as there is something to show (brag about). Most of the team is already build and basecoated, but I haven't been able to start painting any of them yet.
So here is the idea: I'll show what progress I'm making with these elves on a semi-regular basis and if I paint something else I'll show that instead. The goal is to have the entire team painted by the end of May. Here is a pic of the starting lineup:
From left to right we have: blitzer, witchelf, blitzer, runner, assassin, runner and five linemen.
Waiting on the sideline is a third blitzer a second witchelf and a sixth lineman.
I know that white on white is a terrible idea for photography, but I hope that you can get some idea of the models used. And also, this gives me a good baseline to test my setup.
Color scheme? I'm thinking red might be cool
comments?

Nice start!
They look very promising.
I've tried something similar two years ago with satisfaction.
What colours do you plan to paint them?

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves
Thank you, Lord Drakon, I used wyches as a base for most of the models and gave them scourge helmets and shoulder guards from the sisters of silence. Wyches are dynamic
I'm going for a raven-theme with the uniforms so to answer Ming, I'm trying khorne red as a base with red/brown leathers and black metals with pale skin as a contrast. The idea here is that the uniforms are the color of dried blood for a reason
And to answer Cultofkhaine, no-one has the ball yet, though I might make ones for the runners. Can't really see myself modeling anyone else carrying it around. Thank you for the comments, I'll try to start painting these tonight.

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves
Some progress has evidently happened
Managed to get the first color to all the models and got my hands on the human teams ball from the core set.
After a quick mold-making, the runner has the ball!
Though so does the human norse savage, but whatever..
I needed to practice my greenstuffing and someone asked me to paint their BB team
I will post more progress, when there is progress to be posted
C&C welcome

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves
Some progress:
This time I started painting the norse team of someone, finished the primarch of someone else and managed to put some red and metal to few of my dark elves
I no longer find the idea of painting someone elses miniatures as amusing as I did a year ago..
I will post better pictures when I have more dark elves to show.

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves
Just finished painting those Norse BB players so the next picture will be of my delf team getting some paint on (at last!).
The local league starts tomorrow and here is my starting lineup:
5xlineman
3xblitzer
2xrunner
1xwitch elf
1xteam re-roll
fan factory (30k)
It's not an ideal team, but this way I hope to get more experience from each game.
Ideas on strategy? I know that elves play ball and avoid the punchy types, but otherwise I don't know how this game works.

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves
So...
I have not painted anything new, been too busy with life and such. I have managed to play three games, so I'm going to tell you about those.
1.st game: I lose 2-1 TD to orcs, one lineman dies.
2.nd game: I lose 2-0 TD to dwarfs, both runners die (worth a total of 9 SPP).
3.rd game: I lose 2-0 TD to goblins, one blitzer dies.
Three games up, three remaining, my team has taken 11 casualties and enters the fourth game with seven journeymen (plus three linemen and one blitzer)..
I have only one player(the mentioned blitzer) remaining with enough SPP to have earned a skill and I have a feeling that her life-expectancy is not too high.
That is a problem, because she is the only thing keeping the team competitive. In the third game she was the only reason I did not lose 3-0.
The storemanager said that he has never seen anyone with this bad luck in this game and he has played BB for over 20 years.
So far I have not played too badly, I don't repeat mistakes and I keep learning the tricks of the game. The dice just refuse to roll anything useful.
Wish me luck, for I'm playing my fourth game today. It will be against another orc team, so I'm hoping to use the tactics I learned in the first game here. Regardless of what happens, I will be forced to play two more games so that everyone in the league gets to play against everyone else. Luckily we only play one game against everyone, because that means people don't want to make any fouls. It would only aid the other players.
I friggin hate this game.
