Even an AOS-hater like me can appreciate those models. Nice evolution of the aesthetic changes introduced with the Bloodwrack medusa, new Witch Elves and Sisters of Slaughter. Thanks for the info Cult

I have mixed feelings, to be honest.
On the one hand, they're objectively cool models, and the fluff seems to be a fine mix of recognisable World-That-Was lore (Khaine/Morathi/harpies-as-reborn-witch-elves) and newer stuff (Morathi changed by her time in Slaanesh's belly/Wanting to be recognised as a true member of the Pantheon and not just as Malerion's mum).
But on the other hand, GW is still GW. It still feels like everything they do is aimed at teenage boys. When we asked for more female representation in minis and lore, we didn't mean "give us more sexy elf girls in bikini armour". I've never had a problem with witch elves existing as a single unit in one army. The concept of bloodthirsty religious-fanatic warrior-women isn't inherently a bad one. But creating a whole army/faction around it? Maybe GW can do the idea justice, but after what they did to the Eschers in the new Necromunda (changing them from badass space-Amazons to... a hodgepodge of pretty much every sexist stereotype about women, including making them more likely to flake out and run away than literally every other gang in the game), I no longer have much faith in them.
So, basically, I'm going to wait and see. The models look nice. Let's see if GW can actually deliver a playable faction that isn't just a bunch of "woman scorned" tropes and "biotches be cray" jokes.

Its interesting that you say that Shadowspite - I wonder if this is their attempt to claw back some ground with the many female mini releases out there from other companies... Raging Heroes Bad Girls etc.

To be honest, I thought these were Raging Heroes minis when I first saw the pics. And if that's the intention, I'm sure it will work. Unless GW somehow manages to make them even more expensive than RH, which is very possible now I think about it...

Hopefully the models remain good-looking without wings. If so, then there are plenty of great models for T9A, including a Medusa.

I beleive the mini at the end will be caledor dragon tamer. Or a hybrid of him and Marathi, as it was them both that disrupted the vortex at the end times. The mini has nice scales and wings consistent with dragons, and it also makes a bit of sense with the Naga type witch elf with a pet dragon perched on her arm.

Has there really been nothing new - not even a rumour - teased over the past two weeks?

Witch Aelves/Sisters box is no longer available. Surely a re-boxing?

Hopefully the reboxed version will come with a slightly less extortionate price as well as the round bases...

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-BE/Da ... lood-Coven80 euros for a 105 euro kit. In AoS there are ways to get armies cheaper. The price per model hasn't come down though.

Yeah, the Blood Coven box does suggest GW are fully aware they set the initial price point of the Witch Elves a bit too high.
But I was actually thinking of the various Stormcast kits that eventually got repackaged with twice the model count for rather less than twice the price.

Well, I think they realised they were putting their business out of their target audience's budget... And that people would go above and beyond to convert the starter box instead of buying the new kit. But yeah, I think they did switch their business model to provide cheaper options to build an army, and use the detailed kits for the collectors or those who only need a small upgrade to their list. I'm a big fan of their start collecting boxes and packs. It's very tempting to quickly start a 500 point army now... Or why buy 5 terminators in 40K when a few bucks more will also give you a terminator lord? That's an extra conversion/configuration option!
That said, though, I never fully agreed with the sentiment that the Witch Elves were "so expensive". GW's cost 45 euros for 10. The best alternative on the market comes from Raging Heroes, were 10 models with a command option cost 42 euros.. and that doesn't include shipping. If you go cheaper on the models, you get cheaper quality.

They were/are expensive compared to equivalent GW minis, though. More expensive than any other plastic elven infantry kit, including elite units like Phoenix Guard. More than twice the price of Black Ark Corsairs. More than twice the price of Chaos Warriors (per model). The same price as ten fething Chaos Knights!
