Theories and Ideas we want for the Next Elf Release

Post by Saintofm »

I'm guessing there has to be another elf release for minies. GW loves money and making kits with alternet units so what could they have in mind?

I think starting with the dreadlord and sorceress minies would be a start. Outside of the magical covens or the dragon princes lines, the one dark elfy heroes is the pirate and anything mounted on a dragon. So Why not have something for the Drakespawn? Or the Darkling Covenents?

Manticores would also be a thing. THey were a staple for dark elves for years, so some variation on the mini might also work, say for the Privateers. It could probably be used for some other creature in Greek or Roman mythos. Say a spinx.

I am also dreading what they might do to Drake spawn knights. On one hand they might keep them as is. On the other, the might try something like they did with wood elves and make an all female unit with less armor and more magic.

Any other ideas?

Pure speculation, or is there something you would happen to know?

Speculation is good.
It's often better than the real thing... :D

Scourge Privateers
Darkling Coverns
Order Serpentis

All mini-factions that can only be used with a grand alliance or as allies (might be wrong there?). From a Dark Elf point of view these could use fleshing out. I do appreciate that there are others mini-Elf factions too that could use some love.

There is nothing wrong with speculation, dreams, and fantasies considering the nature of our hobby ;-)

Based on what GW communicates via Warhammer community and White Dwarf, I do not expect them to release anymore minis that resembles the old druchii range.

Best we can hope for is a battletome or that Malerion's incoming faction has some resemblance to the old Druchii.

I would expect some sort of mini-release for Daughters of Khaine (endless prayers?) and then the Hysh elven faction led by Tyrion and Teclis. I think the Tenebreal Shard and Mistweaver Saih are a good example of the next two major elf releases. One focusing on Shadow and one on Light, first led by Malerion, the second by Tyrion and Teclis (which I have a fan theory will be a single warscroll with the twins sharing a base and working as an inseparable team.)
