Dawn of War Contact Thread

Well based off of Cain666's Blizzard thread, I thought there was sufficient interest (3 whole people) to warrant a thread of this type for 40K's Dawn of War.

For those unfamiliar with contact threads, generrally you put your:

Login name for the game. (So we can find you online, names in yellow are Druchii.net login's if different.)
Location (So it is easier to schedule a game time. Chances of me meeting up with someone in Bangledesh for an afternoon game is slim.)
Prefered contact method (On all the time, PM me, e-mail me, etc.)
And for an added twist, include what skill level you percieve yourself. So people know what they are getting into when they agree for a game.

Generally the guy who starts the list (IE ME) take responsibility for editing the first post with each new post. So you don't have to dig through the thread to find someone you know, you just have to look at the first post. (And it is also helps if a moderator deletes one's that have been already added to the first post, nudge nudge Rork)

So now that I thoroughly bored you with the explanation. I'll kick it off.

Also if anyone has a preferred channel that they want to take over mention it and I will add it to this post as well (I haven't checked if it is possible in thier chat to make or create channels.)

I put you in "Actually pretty good" Because I don't know what that ladder stuff means, but if you think it needs to go higher, I can change it. And if you start whoopin on everyone else as their getting thier first builder out, I will definately change it.

you know, i havnt even got round to making an account yet. like i said in that thread, i havnt had the guts to go online with it yet. once ive done these exams ill post what i need to.

[edit2] when i went online, it said to download an imperial guard patch so i did, but what does it do? are they now a playable race online? doesnt make sense considering the expansion pack comes out September with imperial guard on it.

any of you guys been on lately? ive been on several times and looked for you (like in Segmentum Solar etc). had 4 games and lost 3! the online community is rather rough and tend to rush you, which is not my style of play. guess ill have to adapt to survive....

Heh, it will be my first online game, so whatever. Be warned I am using space marines since that is what I played during the campaign. (And as far as I can tell have lousy defense against the ork, or eldar rush.)

Both Space marines and Chaos seem to do exceptionally well. Eldar tend to crushed from rushes as they need time to become good and orks...well they're just orks....

I might play as my own space marines or my own chaos. depends on how im feeling....

volcanic reaction 2v2 is my specialty if either of you ever see me set up a game called "2v2 no idiots" that'll be me. My favourite 3v3 map is that hell pass thing set out like kyser luiten in the fact all 3 allies start really close but it is just a better map. That is of course if we all want to be on the same team.
rushes i can take care of if you help me defend when i say i need it (lost a lot of games beating rush then finding my ally didn't pursue or take advantage and counter attack....)
i play space marines so please will you play as chaos? as i'm sick of having whole teams of space marines...

im not bothered, although it would be nice to start winning a few games...

like i said if any of us are the first create the game, create it to be "Asperon" and have that as the password.

looking forward to it, although if i dont appear online or join the game after an hour, you can tell im still asleep...

pmpn8ez, did u manage to see us? we were just on, but my pcs screwed up, so we only had one game (in which i was crushed horribly)

Oh, yeah, no Prob. Infection and I played a 2vs2 in which we whooped on some poor victims.

Ok, ok, it was mostly Infection. But I did manage do clean up rather well, I thought. He would charge in, chaos would insue, and I would just make sure we didn't leave anything behind us.

At least that was my job until I got my drop pods :twisted:

Well I have been practicing against my brother. He is really good if everything goes his way. But since I am Druchii, I tend to be a little unorthodox. Needless to say, most of the time I whoop on him.

I have been practicing with the orcs. But I still think the SM's are my best army.

Well I actually played with random people last night, as Orks. The first time I have taken Orks out against anyone but my brother. It was the 3 vs 3 map where you have the single bridges that enter into your base. (This will be slight practice for some of my DE battle reports I plan on putting up, soon.)

Deployment: I was in the middle. to my right were my Chaos allies. To my left were my Space Marine allies. My direct opposite was my enemies the Chaos. With Eldar flanking him on both sides.

Allies Battle plan: I was orks. My plan was: WAAAAGHH!!! Couldn't quite figure out if my allies actually had a plan.

Enemy Battle plan: Put freakin' webways all over the map, and ambush us every which way with eldar, and then bombard us with defilers. :evil:

So What happened: I overwatched three squads of Boyz with Mad Docs and went charging across the map first thing. I ran into a bunch of cloaked heretics, a webway, a bunch of cloaked rangers, and some cloaked Chaos Marines. And overwhelmed them. My allies roasted marshmallows and picked thier noses.

By the time I reached the enemy bridge I recieved on my screen "help" from my Space Marine Allies. Followed by "help" from my Chaos allies. The Boyz made an about face and charged to the aid of the Space Marines, who looked in worse shape. While my Mek Bay started pouring out Looted tanks on that flank. I put out a second Mek Bay on the other flank in order to prepare to help my Chaos Allies who were holding thier own, barely.

As the Boyz were halfway back, my base got hit for the first time. Some "Spikey Boyz" (Chaos) decided to attack the front of my base which was defended by 8 Waaagh Banners with "Even Bigga Gunz" upgrades. The ensuing barrage of rokkits concluded the one and only attack on the front of my base.

Between the looted tanks and the Boyz the Space marines were saved, although the Boyz were pretty much finished. The space Marines were attacked purely by one eldar and I was slightly convinced that it was merely a diversion. Unfortunately, my puny Ork brains couldn't wrap around that entire concept of what the tricksy Eldar could do.

On the other flank, My Chaos Allies lost thier bridge. It was absolutely polluted with Eldar and Chaos, and my ally was losing ground. Not to worry. My Rampaging Squiggoth cleared that bridge right up. And my Nob Squad with attached Big Mek teleported in to finish off the scattered remnants.

Attacks repulsed, Boyz replenished, Squiggoth out. Back to the WAAAAGHH!! So off I go. This time with Chaos in tow, and looted tanks scattered around the bases for defense. And this is where the tricksy Eldar had the greenies completely beat. The entire way across the map Eldar were popping up from every direction. Engaging and disengaging. Defilers dropping artillery into every combat and by the time the Boyz made it to the other side they were exhausted. Morale was low, the Squiggoth was wounded.

And then. . . . The eldar popped out of webways in the rear of both of my allies bases. Thats right. They hadn't been patrolling for webways.

Back go the Boyz. . .

Anyway, more of the same as the last defensive stand. But the Marines just couldn't hold up and even with 5 looted tanks on that side I couldn't hold off the eldar. Once that flank collapsed I had nothing to hold off that side, as they used that break to roll us up.

Anyway, I got a personal Congrats from my opponents, as they said the Orks were the only things preventing an easy victory putting the game up to 90 minutes. Boost of my already dangerous Ego.

Sounds like fun... and yes, I'll be up long past 10. After all, tomorrow is Friday; it's practically not a school night.

My AIM is passby20, so I'll leave that on if you have it, since I'll be playing Starcraft (most likely).
