I am sure this question has already been answered somewhere but I cannot find it so I apologize in advance.
If a champion is the only non-character model members of an attacking unit can legally attack do the wounds inflicted count against the unit or just the champion? Basically I am trying to understand if Champions in a character wall can block me from attacking and wounding the rank and file members of the unit or if the champion acts as a "door" to being able to attack rank and file models?

Re: Champion in a character wall
Per page 93 of the Rulebook:
"Note that any extra wounds inflicted on the champion do not carry over onto the rest of the unit--once the champion is slain, excess wounds are lost."
So you would need to kill the champion first to attack the unit rank-and-file.

Truly These are the End Times ...
