Howdy - just a quick question?

I am thinking about putting together a Slaanesh themed army and was wonder if you are legally able to use units from both the Warriors of Chaos and Daemons of Chaos army books (or does the army have to be from each book - so no cross over allowed)

I hope this makes sense.

It's completely legitimate if you use the Legions of Chaos list from the Glottkin book.

Otherwise, you could make it an allied army, so you'd have to take them as separate lists for the combined points value (i.e. a general for each, 25% Core for each).

Or you could just agree with an opponent that it's what you're going to do.

So an allied army is completely legit ie I could have a 2000pt army consisting of 1000pt Daemons and 1000pts Warriors? with their respective % breakdown.

Could I also do it with 1000pts Daemons and 1000pts Dark Elves?

In response to the first question - yes, but probably best to let an opponent know that's what you're doing. Most should be okay with it. Using the "Legions of Chaos" list from Glottkin avoids the need to use the Allies rules, but that opens up the "End Times rules" can of worms instead.

On the second point - you could do it with Daemons and Dark Elves, but you would have to contend with the "Fragile Alliances" rule in the BRB. Basically, you will start as Trusted Allies, but are likely to become Suspicious Allies and then Desperate Allies during the course of the game, because no-one trusts Dark Elves.

Dont have the rulebook with me atm but at the back is a chart detailing what armies can ally with witch and how ld works between them. But basically most can ally with most.
DE is always suspicious ally though, i think

Legions of chaos (glottkin book) works about the same as malekiths the Eternity king army list. I e pick whatever you want from DoC,WoC and Beastmen.

My slaanesh warriors uses daemonettes as counts as forsaken and slaaneshified skullcrushers

I'd be really interested in hearing how you'd paint/convert if you choose to include Dark Elves - will this be a "cult" themed army, or more occasional allies?

@ flatworldsedge it would have to be a cult themed army if I did it.

I have finished all my big projects and now looking for a new army to paint - I'm toying between Morathi and her Cult of Pleasure or a Corsair theme.
