Re: Another old bloke back

Nice to see you two are still around, not so nice, that the site is dead.
I already got that from looking at the posts but still wanted to call in.
I also looked at warseer and belloflostsouls, seems the community really has had it with the changes GW did.

Cheers

Another old bloke back

Hi there,
I know it's been a long time, but as some others I am back on the game.
Since my son is now old enough to get Warhammer done, I am playing again.
Very old school (7 ed) but enjoying it again.

Cheers

Re: Rising from the Dead (Kind of)

Welcome, never played my brother. But my wife plays Skaven (nasty buggers). Go ahead, proxy, test, fail, slaughter them better next time.
Don't ask me for advice since I have a problem with Skaven.
Regards and remember to give the tithe to Khaine

“If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.” (Marcus Brigstocke, attributed to others) As others posted before: What made Hitler start WW2, Gengis Khan conquer several countries, start the crusades, inter...

Re: New DE armybook rumours summary

As opposed to the current one which just teleports... or they disassemble it and reassemble it each turn? If you are seriously worried about the effects of uneven ground on the cauldron, you might as well worry about how executioners swing their double handed weapons shoulder to shoulder without ki...

Re: New DE armybook rumours summary

Just had a look at the new items. I can stand 60€ for the cauldron/shrine. I do not like the tower-like design, seem impractical to be pushed into combat on uneven ground. But 45€ for 10 witches? Great they are core now, that must be worth something... And 31€ more for a red ribbon and a printed sle...

Re: Was thumped by skaven. Was the list the problem?

Since I regularly had a bad time to match my wifes Skaven: Try to avoid close combat with slaves 1. You can still be shot at 2. If they run, they do not cause panic in other (non slave) Skaven units 3. You receive damage from the fleeing slaves I also tried to avoid expensive units, like others said...

Re: An Executioner is born!

Congratulations!
All the best to mother and father.
My youngest is three and a half year old and very fond of knights already.
He and his sister (6) want to play with our "puppets".
I recommend, like Calisson, to catch up on the sleep when you can.

Re: 500 pt DE vs Skaven

My wife also plays Skaven and I do not like the idea of knights, since she fields jezzails everytime. With 36" range and high S and armour piercing value knights are dead meat. What I hate are slaves, the mass of them with the added rule of dealing damage when fleeing (cornered rats, I think) m...

Re: I would like your thought on this Dark elf rumour round

We should have a very mobile and glasscannon'ish army, but we need just some few adjustments of our troops and a few more mobile additions. We, as all elves, already are glascannons. With stepping up our main advantage of being mobile and choosing our charges and combats has been removed. We still ...

Re: Games, Books, Shows, and Films writers should check out

Centurion (Film) A smart film about the legendary 10th legion of Rome, how a handful of it's survivors are trying to get back over the Adrian wall, all the while vengeful Pics are hunting them down. The fight scenes are also cool as it gives you an idea of what weapon A does to body part B. I have ...

I must say that it was quite a sacrifice (22 ships) to get rid of one admiral, they really must have feared him. Since the alcohol (rum or brandy) was used to make the stored water drinkable (grog) anyway for a long time I guess a bit of a taste of admiral would not have been a problem So splice the...

RIP Michael O'Hare (Jeffrey Sinclair B5)

I just read that Michael O'Hare passed away on friday September, 28th.

One of his most known characters was Jeffrey Sinclair, the commander of Babylon 5 in the first season of the series.

I haven't done pinning or finished my executioners, but I remember a hint from Arquinsiel iirc.

Why in Khaines name do you want to put your sorcs on Cold Ones? You expose them to stupidity, which is quite a liability.

On the rest don't ask me, I haven't played in 8th. ;)

When I imagine playing against 1000 pts army with dark riders as core units, harpies, sorceress on pegasus and master on manticore it seems to me very potential. If you could use it in 1000 pts. It's roughly 200 pts, with the character on top it busts your point limit on the character categories. I...

Why does everybody bring up the BSB with BoHG? She is T3 with no save and since the return attacks are inevitable, she mostly is a present for the enemy. Execs have lost greatly imo with 8th because even on the charge you strike last. I would like to have the possibility to make characters Khainite,...

I am not going to spend 90€ for something so limited in use. No chance of expanding, as I see it. If they aimed for a test if this product carries itself and can be expanded they should have used more fleets along the line of common armies. That way players could have identified themselves more easi...
