Re: i'm i the only one around here still playing 8th ed.
damn, time flies! We made the switch to 40k and i am enjoying it a lot more then i suspected, i am a bit annoyed about all tthe love it gets from GW now, with specialist games, the online community etc etc. and i think it could have saved WHFB,besides they are doing some awsome models for AoS aswell...

Re: Long live WFB!
I think, is I lack the high-STR troops to take on his knights at all, and all he really runs is a Treb, 1 block of archers, and several busses of knights with a couple of damsels. I need to get more anti-armor troops to take him on Well, not per se.. As mentioned by the other gentlemen they are mul...

Re: 8th Edition 1000 point list vs. High Elves
hey man , welcome back to the game! Always good to see a 8th ed. army list on this forum. A few pointers, i'd drop the crossbows and boost your corsairs to 20 for your minimum core choice, i'd rather take witches but they might not be much for an arrow screen. Drop your sorceress and take some warlo...

Re: War hydra building
I have the metal one as well - that was a real dog to build - the worst model I have ever put together. thats sounds wonderfully hopefull,[especially comming from you! From memory didn't the heads have numbers moulded into them and same on the necks to show which pieces joined together. why.. yes, ...

Re: 40K being AOS-ed Rumours
ive been following the planned changes to 40k on the GW community. Seems like they really thought it through. It even got me to buy a great deal on some chaos space marines and wait till new rules drop. hopefully it will be like Red says, smallish skirmish games, making a few units of marines and 2 ...

Re: Topic of the Week - Boxed games
ah thanks,
And here i was thinking the horus heresy would use the same(ish) rules as 40k, more like a scenario.
To bad, the story seems interesting enough.

Re: Topic of the Week - Boxed games
Back in the day we used to play Warhammer quest a lot! The story and scenario designing next to the normal scenario's was what kept us going. Tbh though thats my only experience with boxed sets cross overs (playing Totalwar WH, bloodbowl and mordheim, the odd game of space marine and dawn of war, bu...

Re: Topic of the Week - A new army!
2016 got in the way of actually doing stuff hobbywise. I had some (good) ideas at the end of 2015.But it all got shelved come march '16. So new starts with oldish plans in 2017. I bought a skaven army for my girl to paint, completely selfless obviously, to bad she's not interrested in playing the ga...

Re: Warhammer Armies Projects Ravening hordes
From what I've seen I wouldn't match my Ravening Horde Dark Elves against the real High Elf book. Indeed and my book vs the HE ravening horde didnt seem fair either. As his was struggling enough with the official VC book against ours. Dont want to crush his newly found enthusiasm for the game so so...

Re: Warhammer Armies Projects Ravening hordes
Sorry man, my bad! i picked 9th ed. by mistake the 2nd time around. We 're sticking with 8th edition, however like a said we 're missing the High elf book. its one of the main armies of my mate and I thought this might be a nice solution as long as we cant find the book. (it's harder then expected)....

Re: Warhammer Armies Projects Ravening hordes
Sooo, I just noticed thy gave the cores medium armour? whats up with that? DAeron is think you have a good point about cores, itás back to Dark riders or xbows and a sword/spearbunker. Whereas in 8th i find it hard to choose something over my witches. Which Of course I still do..sometimes...So maybe...

Re: Warhammer Armies Projects Ravening hordes
Warlocks even got cheaper, but lost their strength 4.
Id be playing against the high elves version as we dont have that 8th ed book.
Ill try to come up with other workable alternatives after another good read

I havent looked into 9th age for a while, but damn, these points per model are of the chart arent they?
i thought you might have forgotten the mount for your dreadprince..but no.
Eindhoven is close enough that i might pop in to have a look, im quite curious as how 9th plays out.
Good luck anyways

Warhammer Armies Projects Ravening hordes
Has anybody ever tried out the Ravening list of the dark elves? It looks a bit harder to manage with some troops going from core to special and from special to Rare. Losing ASF , which is good in my opinion. Spider riders though? And it has a lot of rares, i think hydra did just fine as special. Wha...

Im still trying to keep 8th going, with two of my mates. (one of whom almost missed the entire 8th edition but now is getting back in the game). With him i'm getting ready to play the blood of sigmar campaign this weekend(my emipre vs his VC). A nice way of some army building&painting and for hi...

i think they are quite nice (dont play chaos anymore though, and never played 40k). The enitre 1000sons set is pretty awesome https://www.games-workshop.com/en-BE/Thousand-Sons-New-Releases-ENG offtopic: i got a bit into the 40k fluff online (arch warhammer is a good one). But i want to read a bit m...
