Trying to track down a non-GW model...

I remember seeing a non-GW model of a dark elf riding (kinda surfing on) a giant snake. I don't suppose anyone can help me find it again?

Especially when they loose their regen due to flaming attacks. Which just about everyone has access to. Flaming doesn't cause the loss of regen any more, only stops the flaming hits regening. I go for two hydras (called Barry and Harry), because I can't bring myself to spend more points for 2 RBTs,...

I've considered dropping the execs, but they've done so well so far! They took out a JSOD (lord level one) last game. They're a cheap drop, painless to sacrifice, can break ranks and can deal out up to 6 hatred, Str6, killing blow attacks. They've done better than the CoKs I dropped!

Don't rely on the fear/terror - skaven blocks don't have low Ld. With three ranks, that's leadership 8 (same as us!), or 9 with a chieftain nearby. I second the call for a hydra, but if you don't have the model ready, that's that. Maybe use some crossbows, to try and knock off rank bonus. That lower...

You've got too many points of magic items on the supreme sorceress - remeber the pendant is 35, not 25. I'd be tempted to change the CoK to units of 5 or 6 with music, to save some points and not give away a banner - but I've had very bad luck with my CoK! I'd bulk up the unit of spearmen with the e...

2250 All comers list

I’m trying for a balanced but competitive list, to take on anyone who turns up. Supreme Sorceress (345) - Level 4 - Sacrificial Dagger - Pendant of Khaeleth - Dispel Scroll Sorceress (185) - Level 2 - Darkstar Cloak - Dispel Scroll Master (134) - BSB - Armour of Darkness - Great weapon 24 Warriors (...

And RAWs nicer sister is RAI, which stands for Rules As Intended. This can be quite a can of worms, as people seem to have different opinions regarding what was intended!

How are the beastmasters a weakness? They're very hard to target, because most everything hits the hydra.

I'd go with 6, because that's what you need to roll for poison attacks and killing blow - witch elves and executioners.

Harpies make great baiting units. The oponent only gets to use tactical wheels if the harpies hold. If you flee, they have to follow the harpies and get as close the them as they can. If you look in the main rulebokk FAQ, you'll see that when skirmishers flee from a charge, the flee path is drawn fr...

I tend to use two units of 12, with full command (and toys depending on my mood). With back up for the Cauldron, they are a very nice unit. They can be given 4 attacks each, and tear through low quality troops, or killing blow to take apart tin cans. The 5+ ward gives them some defence in the early ...

The main threat to any Big Flying Beasty (BFB for short) is war machines. Bolt throwers, cannon and stone throwers all have the strength to hurt the BFB, deal multiple wounds, and don't allow an armour save. Combined with the large base/large target, they have a fair chance of hitting. Against these...

Well done against DoC - they can be nasty. I did notice, in your turn 1, that the riders failed their fear test to charge. Even if the outnumber the target, they still can't charge; the hitting on 6s thing is for you being charged. Don't know if this would have had much of an impact, though.

If he's gonna use the same thing over and over, you should try out Shadowblade. He's very expensive, but he can hide in one of the dwarves war machine crews (obviously on his knees...), then pop out and take out all the war machines PDQ. If you line him up right, he can take them all in a line. If h...

This really illustrates the reason I've stopped taking Cold Ones in any numbers, and why I never rely on them any more. I wish we had normal heavy cav. Oh well.

You should try a hydra - it doesn't need to take fear tests, it's not stupid, and it hits so hard!

A unit of goblins (about twenty) with two characters attacked mine. With the 4+ ward, stubborn and BSB (Death Hag didn't have anything else), they held them up long enough for my BG with dreadlord to come in and charge the flank.

I've had two games with the new DE. The first was against goblins (lots and lots of goblins!), using a mainly infantry list. The witch elves and black gurad (ASF plus dreadlord), backed up by a cauldron, cut a swath through the goblins. Meanwhile, Harry the Hydra went from one side of the board from...

The cauldron doesn't have a base, as such, and it doesn't need one as it's an indistructable war machine.

A couple of things in the new book...

I;ve just got my grubby paws on the new book, and I've noticed a couple of points I thought I'd stick up here... 1) The Whip of Agony states that it's a beastmaster scourge, which means it's a hand weapon. As far as I know, this gives us the only magic weapon that can use the hand weapon/shield bonu...
