I played my worst game in recent memory last week. I played an infantry heavy Empire list versus a friend's infantry heavy Chaos list. First two rounds went fairly well, with a Hellstorm rocket battery wiping out half of a unit of Nurgle Chaos warriors. Top of turn three he made it into combat with ...

Adding to the question, what about in subsequent rounds of combat? Say the Elf on the Griffon killed the champion in a duel in the second round of combat instead of the first? The High Elf would strike first with ASF, and say he manages to kill the champion. Because the griffon doesn't strike until ...

In the demonstration, the flintlock hit the plate armor head on to the point that the bullet flattened on impact. It left a dent and nothing more. There was no penetration at all, and the bullet wasn't deflected. Modern bullets would absolutely cut right through the armor, but the flintlock couldn't...

Re: New Favourite Show: Deadliest Warrior
:D Seems like just about the stupidest thing I've ever seen. A bunch of geeks programming their supercomputer to discover who would win in completely unrealistic situations. For what? Just to find out if mighty mouse can beat superman? I'd like to see Hitler vs Stalin. Or perhaps something relevant...

I've been watching the series as well, and four of my friends watch it with me. After each show we argue about the validity of the tests, and whether or not the comparison is fair. Despite that, the series has been incredible. The biggest complaint we have is that they keep comparing apples and oran...

Cry of War doesn't effect undead they are immune to psychology. That's not correct. You might be confusing Cry of War with the Hand of Khaine (opponent in base-to-base contact with the assassin loses an attack) but Cry of War works just fine against opponents who are Immune to Psychology. As for it...

How would this situation work? A unit of Black Guard fighting against a unit of Chaos Warriors wins the combat and forces the unit to flee. Positioned right behind the unit of Warriors is a unit of 6 Harpies. The Chaos Warriors are instantly destroyed when they run into the Harpies, but the Black Gu...

Question about Fleeing/Pursuing
This evening a situation came up that we can't find a clear answer on. A unit of Chaos Knights was charged simultaneously by two large Ogre units, one in the front and one on the side. When the dust settled, the Chaos Knights had lost the combat, and failed their leadership roll. Here's where the qu...

I wouldn't change the Executioners at all, but I would create another hero. I hate the idea of an unarmored hag leading my executioners, so I would create a Khainite hero. Make it a regular noble with the Khainite rule, and give him all of the rules that implies (50 point magic item allowance, BSB f...

I'm a bit curious as well. If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying for a unit, and what level paint job did you spring for? I've seen a lot of Micro Art Studio's auctions on EBay, but I've never thought about purchasing from them. The paint jobs are beautiful, but I'm not particularly f...

Starscream, Apocalypse/Legendary Battle games are fantastic if you have the miniatures and the time. It can seem daunting when you contemplate the sheer number of miniatures that the games require, but I really think the games are geared more towards people who have been collecting for a while and h...

The key to defeating a gunline is to get into combat as quickly as possible and start causing panic tests. Not easy to do when they can pick a unit and disappear it at will, but if you can get to him you'll butcher him. If your group allows special characters, you might try fielding Shadowblade, Mas...

The reason I screened the harpies instead of vice versa is that I knew Rob didn't have much shooting, and he rolled a fairly pathetic range of spells for both of his shamans. In fact, magic played so little a part in this game that the only thing I mentioned about it was the shaman blowing himself u...

What I really like about the tactic is that I can never seem to run down units. It seems like I always fall an inch short of catching them, they rally, and I have to fight them all over again. For 55 points, you can virtually guarantee the destruction of any enemy that you can break. To be honest, I...

Turn Five The Cauldron granted the Executioners an additional attack, I charged the unit of Savage Orc Boyz in the side, and destroyed the unit. Just to make sure it actually WAS destroyed and didn’t outrun me, I put a unit of Harpies behind it, and when they ran, they ran right into the claws of th...

Turn Four In this turn the Dark Elves charged forward, taking the Orcs completely by surprise. Two of the units of harpies that had been trailing behind my main line flew overhead, and landed directly behind both the unit of Black Orcs and the unit of Orc Boyz Big’Unz. As soon as they landed, Rob kn...

Turn Three Unbeknownst to Rob, I didn’t set my forces up at the edge of the deployment zone at the beginning of the game. Instead, I placed a line down at the 10” mark pretending that it was the full 12 inches, and used that as my deployment area. So while he believed that he was in charge range, I ...
