Re: Long live WFB!
@Calisson: Where to begin?! I guess I could make a new post somewhere to give some insights to how KoW works... and maybe a battle report (as there is a campaign I'll send a report to soon). The game itself is a lot simpler when it comes to rules, but also a lot more tactics to movements and engagem...

Re: Lord Drakon Battle Reports
Nice battle reps! Too bad I don't play 9th age and don't have any insight to come up with, but I do enjoy reading these reports as they are nicely detailed. I especially love how your personification underperforms so much. It reminds me of when I did it a while back and failed miserably too Keep up ...

Re: Long live WFB!
Nice to see some of the good oldies hanging around here still! Personally I stopped with all WHFB, skipped AoS, didn't go for 9th age, tried a bit of Warmahordes (but found the game to not be for me), and instead went for Kings of War. Finally a game which feels somewhat properly balanced, and even ...

Re: i'm i the only one around here still playing 8th ed.
I'm one of those who has completely left 8th edition unfortunately. I started playing Warmachine & Hordes for a little bit, but decided it wasn't anything for me (I actually found the game to be outright boring). After having a break from fantasy battles, instead playing X-Wing for tournaments (...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
If it's a deal-breaker for you, stop playing GW games, since dice rolling a player off the table is the central feature of their game mechanics. It may or may not play as central a role in tabletop games from other companies, but it's ubiquitous in GW products. "Stop playing it"... it's w...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
Yeah, Death Holy Death was a fool, I would have happily taken it off his hands for free if he wanted to get rid off his army so badly He probably knew he could sell or give his army to anyone, but he wanted to really put out a statement and did it in the right way... at least imo. Anyways AoS is po...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
GW has never been good at balance, but AoS is even worse. The thing is... most players who were into WHFB enjoyed the game because it was tactically challenging from small to huge battles and with the communities making the tournament restrictions, it was a joy to play. Rank and file units who had t...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
why the HELL are the prats at GW not uploading something to youtube or their website showing the designers playing it, how it plays, and what the designers are actually thinking as they're playing it?? I got the answer for that. Clearly they haven't tried it for themselves and got no clue what they...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
I will wait for about a month, or even two, before I will conclude with anything... but I have to say I went from optimistic to pessimistic with the rules release this weekend. Some of those rules there are just outright ridicilous, and when there is no points system in place, you totally lack any b...

Re: Welcome to the Age of Sigmar
I do believe we are now "good" guys. We were always the good guys, we just didn't play nice... unlike the treacherous elves that claimed the throne for themselves and followed false kings. They were the true evil, masking themselves as "good guys". Anyways, I find AoS to be a re...

Re: 9th Edition Rumours
It looks like a very fun game. It just isn't Warhammer. Yep, it is a totally new game really, where you can use your old miniatures. It's a bit funny how some in my local club hates 40k as the rules are so much simplified compared to Warhammer Fantasy... kinda ironic that this new game is a somewha...

Re: Raging Heroes Kickstarter is open!
Pledged at once the kickstarter went live... Even though there will be a long time till any of us receive these miniatures, they will definitly be a nice addition to my army, even just to add a bir of flavour (maybe Cult of Slaanesh style). Anyways, my main issue is to actually finish painting some ...

Re: End Times Archaon
So, finally the end of these End Times... and I can't really think that anyone could be happy about the outcome as the whole world just collapses. The things I liked was that the war between the elves was finally resolved and Malekith finally became the King he should have been a long time ago. ...

Re: The Sickest Deathstar you can imagine.
Shadestar is quite a lot better once you get the lame banner in it as well. Could easily make quite the deathstar out of such a unit as well, although I rarely go with deathstars now. As mentioned, Malekith on his own is just insane, and I would probably have made some strong core like WE with a hag...

Re: Hellebron
It would be nice and fun to try her in a list with Sisters of Slaughter sometime. That would be really fun, but only if you knew your opponent didn't have much, if any, shooting. Her bonus to dispel helps against magic coming at them, but any BS shooting your opponent has will be turned directly at...

Re: Hellebron
I've managed to bait quite a few frenzied units out of position in the past by just moving into the max charge range and having a lot of shooty units myself... as well as having the nice countercharging units at ready to take advantage of any such situation. LD7 frenzy test is very dicey, even with ...

Re: Hellebron
Personally I think I would only really use her on foot with some units I really don't use: - Blackguards - Sisters of Slaughter - Corsairs As for the Witch Elves with Hellebron, the -3 frenzy is a HUGE drawback for such an expensive unit, and as it will hold up a big chunk of your army, it should be...

Re: Fluff aside. What does EoT mean for our model range in 9
Right now we will have tons of choices. In 9th edition I believe we won't have 3x of the same choices, but 1x with different options. The more unique units will probably be around still, but Blackguard/Phoenix guard will probably be one choice. Same with Executioners/Swordmasters/White Lions (althou...

Re: Why is End of Times: Khaine kind of lousy
New editions, new rules and models where the balance will shift to some units that now sucks will become incredibly good and the powerful stuff will get... stuffed. So, my warlocks will probably spend most of their time on the shelves collecting dust in the next edition while I have to get a lot of ...

If you mean just small DRunits and small WE units, dont forget there is 2 scenarios, where you need fortitude... Blood and glory and capture the centre... you need banners and someone to carry them ...thats the problem with MSU aproach under this ETC comp... I forgot about those... yes, then you ne...

Straight dark elf forever, my army will not tolerate any lesser elves to infiltrate it. Malekith is the rightful heir and only those elves who have loyally followed him through the centuries will be allowed to take the field under my leadership. Agreed! ...and any bsb that brings the Banner of the ...
