Re: Army book update for 6th edition Dark Elves?
I would love to, yet am playing a lot of ninth age currently. Yet I could imagine me and some friends going back to 7th ed some time, depending on how the game will develop in the upcoming ~5 years

Re: Army book update for 6th edition Dark Elves?
You can get a hardcopy through Amazon or second-hand booksites like abebooks, e-versions should also be available somewhere, but I don't think GW provides them

Army book update for 6th edition Dark Elves?
As i couldn't find a suitable category to post this question in, I'm posting this here even though it's not really a question concerning 9th age dread elves. With some friends we decided that we prefer to play the 'dated' 6th/7th ed Krauthammer rather then AoS/9th age. So, we'll also be using the ap...

Re: 1000pts not so friendly tournament list...
As you can see, the 'hardest' lists around now are the most mobile ones (with the highest amount of warlocks, unfortunately). With an army that is strongest in the offense but which has a very weak defense, it is most important to strike where you want, when you want to. This is more important than ...

Re: Putting the M in 'Monster List'
That list is amazing. One thing i would do: drop a manticore to replace it with a DP, try to find an extra 5pts and get a unit of 5 warlocks just to have some kind of magic phase, or at least to have a bonus to dispels attempts. True, I fully agree that this would be a better option. So for a tourn...

Putting the M in 'Monster List'
Hi Y'all, Searching out options in the new book, I also considered running a monster list. Now, this is what came out for me at 2400 Pts... High Beastmaster, Manticore High Beastmaster, Manticore Master, Manticore, Iron Hard Skin, Sea Dragon Cloak, Enchanted Shield, Lance, Other Trickster's Shard (G...

I'd guess a witch elf horde in the flank of such a castle skeleton unit would just tear it up, right?

Re: What do shades even do?
They are a pain in the ass for the enemy if he has a slow moving army without a lot of redirectors or support. They are not a threat great enough to be worth full attention of a combat block of your enemy and can handle their own against a lot of the support units the enemy will likely be throwing a...

Otherwise you would also have to re-roll your succesful dangerous terrain tests as these can also be considered 'to-wound' rolls according to your logic. So for every check you pass, you would have to re-roll.. Not nice.

Re: Funniest/most unreasonable deaths and kills
In 7th, I had placed my Lvl 1 sorceress on her own facing a High Elf army with Mage Lord on Dragon. I placed her so that she could see the enemy lines and pretended to be worried about his knights charging in, 'forgetting' about the Dragon. My enemy then proceeded to charge his dragon into my puny l...

Re: 500pt escalation league
You could put your master on a horse so he can go on his own. He's quite strong on 500 pts with just mundane equipement: 3 re-rollable ASF S6 re-roll 1's to wound attacks is nothing to sniff at. Treat it as a chaff clearer and force multiplier and you will be alright

Re: Sans Sorceress?
I have played without a sorceress for years on tournaments: I always considered magic to be too fickle. One double six followed by a 2-4 on the miscast can completely tilt your game. If you fill your army with small units (to which the No.6 spells are pretty bad) and a lot of wizardhunters, you can ...

Re: 4 Manticores and other monsters at 2999
Interesting, especially against mediocre infantry. My guess is that you will have some trouble with tough cavalry and MC (Empire, WoC) and armies which can strike at you before the manticores can and can heavily damage the manti's (DE's, HE's, Ogre characters). Should be a very interesting list to p...

Re: Manticore High Beastmaster builds
True, either go big with the High Beastmaster or stay cheap and get the master. Taking a master with the potion of foolhardiness basically yields you about the same as the naked High Beastmaster albeit for having just +1 A instead of +D3 and getting it only once instead of all the time. The point di...

Re: Facing a Nurgle Warriors of Chaos List
Mostly, WoC lists are lists with slow expensive units with fast cheap support and a very deadly Deamon Prince which can fly, etc... blah blah. The trick in beating this is to gradually kill his army. Try to make him squeeze his army through a small passage, crop up his army into one bit (by for exam...

Re: Single shot or multi shot?
... and keep in mind that if you are shooting a monster/unit which has only 1 wound/model (left), the D3 wounds of the RBT's single shot are negated. Therefore, in those situations, almost always multishot is better.

5x Master, Lance, Heavy Armour, Sea Dragon Cloak, Shield, Dark Steed - 485 pts. Run them individually and you can kill the enemy RBT's/lock the enemy in combat right in turn 2. This way he has just one turn of shooting at all individual targets. Also, you have 1500 more points to play with (2000 pts...

Stuff your army behind any piece of LoS blocking terrain and make the battle end in a draw unless he comes to get you. In other words, render his shooting useless.

Why not run a good size unit of WE 30+ about 300 pts here with the CoB 150 pts? and a hag with the witchbrew 100 pts? , they maintain thier 4 attacks that way and with flame banner they chew thru any size of trolls. With a unit like this, all you need is a 20-30 Executioners 200-300 pts? with Tulla...

Guys, those are not constructive comments at all. We are discussing the use of a medusa, and you try to plow an idea in the ground with just one unconstructive sentence. Please stop playing internethammer and get your models on the table; do all units you encounter in all charges you can make kill a...

Indeed, make fun of your army. Another option is to try and help the enemy in completely whiping out your army whilst you self do anything you can to prevent this from happening. This still makes for an interesting game
