(B) Just write you own background as a sucsessor from which ever legion you wish and use the traits rules to portray it, there is a trait allowing you to give your tactical squads hand weapons and pistols. This option ties you down less and allows you to tailer your chapter however you want. Could ...

Well according to some extremely knowledgeable (slightly nerdy! ) sites, the Dark Founding chapters are known as ghost chapters, as the Adeptus Mechanicus have lost their gene seeds and the bureacracy at the time lost the records. I think you're right though, if the inquisition knew about it then th...

Well I like close combat. I find devastator squads dull. Although I do like tanks (don't we all?). This is why I was condsidering flesh tearers. I like terminators, tanks and lots of close combat. But I want to be able to make up fluff and design my own characters (and my own chapter master), which ...

Successor Chapters
Does anyone know where I can find some examples of decent Space Marine chapters people have come up with? I'm going to embark on my first 40k army and while I love pillaging the old world as an evil torturin' murderin' druchii I quite fancy being a namby pamby beacon of virtue in the 41st Millenium....

Least Used WHFB Army
I was going to do this as a poll, but it would've taken a very long time. Basically I am curious to know what the least popular WHFB army is. I'm curious to know about WH40k too, but I'll start a different thread there. The army I never, ever see is Lizardmen, and I don't think I have ever seen a Tom...

I like that! Great description of the Priestesses of Poison, the warped Chroeshi equivalents of Witch elves. Good bit of inspiration, I'm feeling a bit at a loss for things to write about in the run up to the battle so a few spats around the encampment might make for some light entertainment before ...

Well first off the orders seem appropriate and the steps being taken to get noticed (bullet points and army name) are both excellent ideas. So to make sure I understand Tilmann, the bit you've cited as Order 1 is written in the bullet points (the second point if memory serves?) right? I assume this ...

Surely it all depends what a beginner wants from an army? i started with Skaven because I like the background and the models. Turned out as a good easy army to play (I know there are intracacies to Skaven tactics but for a newbie marching a wall of fur towards the enemy was good enough to win a few ...

I was going to ask about that, I trust that the War of the Beard is when the Tor was destroyed. Do we know anything else that happened here? Why all the spirits for example, was there some massacre or something? EDIT: By the way well done everyone for the fluff that's appeared in my absence. I have ...
