Utterly fantastic, the perfect antidote to the endless high elf promotion over at GW.

If it were me I would just green stuff new hair on the witch elves. Or, as mentioned above, wait for the dark elder to come out. Daemonette heads look like demons.

Fantastic work all around, it really looks great. The only criticism I have is the 'back seat' driver. I understand that you wanted to make Malekith more prominent buy putting him in the front, but the driver would not be able to stand behind him and still use his whip. Accidentally hitting your kin...

Not really sure what you are trying to do, I thought that the COB had a bunch of sculls on the base. If you are painting tiles, you should paint them the colour that you want them to be. For example, if you want them to look like they are made of stone, use grays. If you want them to look ceramic th...

You can swap the female torsos from the Kabalite Warriors sprue for the male wych torsos. Then you can make plastic black guard, and plastic witch elves.

The plastic sprues look great, my paint brush will definitely not be able to keep up with all the new models I will be converting in November.

The new Lillith Hesperax looks fantastic as well, but I'd better go buy one of the current models before they get phased out.

I've painted one unit of shades with a winter theme, using white and gray for their cloaks and tunics. They have brown leather and purple accents to add some variation. I've painted another unit of shades using greens and browns. Their bases are swamp themed. The point is that shades are scouts, so ...

The banner is fantastic, I would leave it as is. I also really like the conversion, it looks very natural.

The metal on the other hand looks a bit rough. Maybe it's just the photography, or maybe it's just because I don't like metallic paints.

10 Phoenix Guard or 10 White Lions cost $50.00

10 black guard or 10 executioners cost $60.00

Not really that much cheaper. However, they would work well if you wanted to theme your army around Nagarythe instead of Naggaroth.

Those banners are difficult to paint any free hand work on, so I would suggest just doing something simple, like runes. You could paint the runes the same gold colour that you used on the brow of the helmets. The shields however are nice and flat, so some free hand skulls would look cool. Snow would...

I think you mean a unit filler. The old GW UK website had examples online of how to model them. I think they may be legal, but not strictly wysiwyg.

I agree that the dragon issue is a big factor. Even if you don't plan on taking a dragon, you opponent might! Lets say your lord inflicts 3 wounds on the champ. Then your dragon gets no attacks, breath weapon, or thunder stomp. You're mighty dragon lord has only killed one champ, and you haven't eve...

I agree that the current Medusa styled witch elf hair is appalling. However, do you really think that the wych models are any better? If it were me I'd just green stuff new hair. Fluff wise, sure you can use them, they have just as much exposed skin. As for Lelith, of course she is incredible as is.

Also It would look really cool if the base of that kraken/squid/crab was the shoreline of a beach. That way it would look like it was crawling out of the water.

Post some pics in the painting and modeling section when you are done!

Keep the light armor on the shades, it is efficient. Against S3 you have a 1/6 chance of saving, for only 1 point. That means that for the 6 points spent on light armor you will save one shade on average. Shades cost 16 points each, so spending 6 points to save one 16 point model is a very efficient...

The crooked banner pole seems a bit odd for a dark elf, more of an orcish or skaven look.

I'm a bit confused. In your first post you said you did not want to build an Arc, but that you wanted to build a corsair ship. Now you have changed your mind? Black Arcs are entire cities ripped out of the ground, and float through the seas on dark magic. If you want to model that, it would be a hug...

War Hydra fire

Hello, I want to model a hydra breathing fire. A couple of the heads have their mouths open, so those ones will be breathing fire, while the others will remain as normal. I think that it would be a great opportunity to paint dramatic other source lighting. Not to mention a fire breathing Hydra! I am...

The recommendations above are good. I would also add that you could glaze some of the sculls, pillars, or stone. Using a gray glaze would smooth out the dry brushing, so that it doesn't look so chalky. Using a thin green glaze would add a toxic, rotting feeling to the appearance Using a thin purple ...
