For me, it has to be my Cauldron of Blood. The amount of times it's allowed my units to smash through my opponents lines is uncountable. My knights and black guard particularly have munched through units in one turn where realistically it should've taken them two-three or even them losing combat. I ...

Well, considering that cold ones come from the Underworld Sea, there might be some heat source down there somewhere or maybe the sea itself has enough heat for the cold ones to survive. I don't know anything else that would allow them to survive in the extreme cold. Then again this is a fantasy game...

Just a quick note about marines. When you catch them in a sweeping advance you do not kill them automatically instead you takes as many armour saves as you lost combat by, which is what your opponent did. For clarification the rule is And They Shall Know No Fear. Also you cannot put two marine conba...

The rule that says the flyers die if they flee and land on a forest. What they can't dodge it? Fly over it? Especially bad with Dragons and such. Normally you would expect the Dragon to either just keep on flying over it or simply land and crush the trees under its bulk but for some reason one of th...

Ok thanks Mr. Anderson. I should've said this earlier but i'm not a big fan of Bright Lances as they are incredibly expensive and can never find enough points for them so I'll stick with my missile launchers. Anyway added a Wave Serpent and took off Runes of Witnessing and the Singing Spear on the F...

Ok new revised list, I took some suggestions on board but didn't take rangers as I want to be different from other people and I don't particularly like paying 95 points for 5 shots and I get really unlucky with my rolls anyway for 40k. Also my Wraithlords do indeed have twin flamers. Doom was not me...

1000pts Iyanden Eldar Army
Hey guys, i'm starting an Iyanden force and this is what I was thinking I should have for 1000pts. HQ Farseer, Doom, Guide, Runes of Witnessing, Spirit Stones and Singing Spear 133pts HQ Prince Yriel 155pts Troops 9 Dire Avengers, Exarch, Bladestorm, PW & Shimmershield 150pts Troops 8 Dire Aveng...

I'd get rid of the Autarch and put in a Farseer with Guide, Doom, Runes of Witnessing and Spirit Stones. Makes your units a lot more effective especially against Marines and similar armies, the more saves they have to take the better. I'd get rid of the vectored engines on the wave serpents to make ...

Personally I'd get rid of the centigors and dragon ogres and replace them with 2 herds and 2 units of hounds as in my opinion have enough heavy hitters and this list doesn't really need centigors IMO. Also I'd replace power stones with something else but I just don't like them so if you do like them...

Congrats Gav for an entertaining read. I liked it enough i'm reading it again which means you did something right. Thought the story was great particularly when Malekith found the Circlet of Iron and all of the last half of the book. One thing I would've liked to have seen more is of Morathi's invol...

Simply, they are the most boring army to play with and against. They only have one Troops choice and one HQ choice (not including the C'tan). Plus everyone takes a Resurrection Orb (which makes for a very boring game IMO). Way to beat them usually remains the same, by phasing them out which is quite...

Well the best player in our GW store plays Sisters (as well as the other Imperial armies) and I've seen and played against them enough times to know that they are very competitive. In 1000pts, he takes a Canoness with an inferno pistol, Power Weapon and 2+ save, 2 Exorcists (I strongly believe they ...

Well after versing and reading the new Lizzies, they are not as scary as you might think at first. Most of their good combat stuff like saurus, temple guard and cold one cav have got very good saves and guard and cav have WS4. The magic items suck majorly IMO only the weapons and a few items here an...

Personally, I think the Rangers are not needed in such a small points game as you have somehting counter just about anything you'll face in 500pts. I'd go with 10 Dire Avengers in a Wave Serpent with upgrades and such fitted to your liking instead of the rangers. They will let you deal with hordes, ...

Well for me, Apocalypse is incredibly fun but only when done at a mate's house. The ones at my GW store are all over the place, mainly because people with no idea of how the game runs in apocalypse stuff it up, so I don't play in those ones. I love it when untold amounts of destruction happen on the...

I'm perfectly fine with unpainted models and so are my opponents but proxying is another story, in fact our GW store has a policy of no proxying models and must be fully assembled unless they have only just broken when you take them out of your case or while playing your game. The Staff are also not...

Actually the only thing official about the FAQ's are the Errata. The FAQ's are essentially house rules that you use when at Tournaments etc where you don't have common house rules. Anyway I guess they reasoned it doesn't fire magical bolts just the crossbow itself is magical. Not something I agree w...
