Selling Dark Elves & 40K stuff

Alas, the responsibilities of the real world has finally caught up to me resulting in a dramatic downsize of my Druchii force as well as significant 40k (mostly old) elements!

If you could inform anyone you might think is interested I would appreciate it greatly.

Kind Regards

Bretonnian's is my other army and it is the oldest book in circulation at the moment! It is not necessarily a bad book but it is clearly outdated and the power creep has left it with a large amount of mediocre units! It's still fun to play but against any power build list, it becomes difficult to wi...

@ Yeasir - the actual line is "Note that Bound spells may not benefit from any casting modifiers the user might have (for the wizard level, magic items and so forth). The biggest question remains if the Sac Dagger is a "casting modifier". If it is, then it wouldn't be allowed - this i...

@ Cold73 - Hmm, the wording is very open on that one! By using an item, the Slann is, technically, casting the spell! However, i can see the argument that the item is being used and not the Slann itself. My fundamental argument comes down to the simple idea that anyone using a bound spell has to use...

I asked this question a while ago and while there was no defined FAQ answer the common consensus came down to a yes, you can. @ chaffmaster - "common sense" doesn't really apply to Warhammer in general. Wording is in fact ALWAYS the key to what you can and can't do in a game. In regards to...

For Sale, Dark Elves & Space Marines

Trying to get rid of a lot of models just to generate a little cash and free up some space, so here is what is for sale. Please note, i am located in the UK (Yorkshire) and will only post to the UK (I will also meet to trade as well for any local people!). Dark Elves 50 Dark Elf Warriors with Full C...

I would be less inclined to use Knights and more so for Chariots. The increased toughness will help you resist the shooting and make them harder to grind down in combat. Word of Pain might be nice and as Mac says, Chillwind will teach them a valuable lesson in manners! Instead i would use your COK's...

Played a second game against them and came up with another very comfortable victory. Like Dalamar said, Vanhel's can be used to catch you off guard but i found that careful deployment can counter most of that due to the fact the Vamp's are relying on combat to win. Again i found that if you do your ...

RAW: you CAN cast black horror into combat as you don't have to place it on a model, merely place it. Same as you can cast purple sun and have it move across units in combat. However, it is generally considered bad sport and i would advise against doing it. Of course if you are in a tournament where...

I would avoid exposing your Sorceress on the off chance of getting one powerful spell off. True, she may cast Purple sun and it scatter 30" across the enemies battle line and devastate his army. Or she may fail to cast it (or have it dispelled) and a group of carrion or tomb scorpion then proce...

Another thing to watch out for is if your opponent bring's Gorbad. This ugly greenskin has a LD of 10, counts as a BSB, has a range of 18" for both and pretty much eliminates animosity. Add to that he removes the cap on Big Un's and he is pretty powerful in combat, combines to make him a real p...

Harpies would normally be your best chance but the Casket of Soul's guardians are pretty tough so its not a 100% guarantee. Failing that, it depends on how quickly you can get to the cursed thing. Shades would be especially good if there is room enough to deploy them. While they are unlikely to do m...

I agree that it should only work on a natural roll of a six, yet my opponent came up with a good argument, that is as follows: The "to hit" chart accounts for rolls that require more than a "6" to hit, and thus gives examples of what you need on 7's etc. The "to wound" ...

It may also effect poisoned attacks when combined with the enchanted blades.

If it does, a unit of Witch Elves with a blessing from the COB and the two spells would be rather powerful!

Firstly, if your facing Orks your buggered cos they are from the 40k universe ;-) Orcs and Goblins can be a nasty combination at the hands of a skilled opponent. They have a combination of tough troops and large numbers, as well as monsters and surprisingly accurate and powerful firepower. Depending...

Killing Blow Combined with Flaming Sword of Rhuin!

In my last game an interesting question came up: I blessed my unit of Witch Elves with Killing Blow from the COB and then moved them into position, forcing my opponent into a position where he had to charge them. During the magic phase, i then cast the flaming sword on the unit, giving them a +1 to ...

Just a quick update. Played the game today and probably achieved one of my most impressive victories ever. I think the key to victory against VC's is solid strategy and the combination of units - although, to be fair, this is the key to victory against everything! Nothing really scared me: the two t...

Based on this conversation so far is there any really nasty combinations that us Druchii should be concerned about when facing VC. I have a game planned this weekend and after only a (very) brief read, i am not sure what to expect and naturally, how to counter! Hexwraiths seem to be the main thing t...

I agree with the 40k nonsense these days.

Just out of interest..what would people do if they were fielding Dwarfs? Those Ethereal units are going to be a nightmare! (its unlikely even with a potent hero you are going to win combats and you are buggered when they start running through you!)

I never field the one man speed bump, either on peg or Cold one! Much more effective and appropriate to let your spearmen take the brunt of an attack, die in droves (they are low born afterall!) and then allow your Lord with his unit of fellow nobles (and competitors for his position) charge in on t...

I can see lots of units of ethereal cavalry being the biggest concern! I mean, if someone turns up with two units then spells and magic items will be enough me thinks, if someone turns up with dozens of them, it could be....problematic. I've only had a brief read through (and i do mean brief) but no...

Without a doubt RXB's are the way forward, esp when/if you combine them with something like enchanted blades/sword of rhuin (i think its called)/ Guiding eyes. What i also like is, when you have whittled a unit down to a half dozen men or so, hitting them with a pair of chariots. They will still get...

Max 30 RXB's. Problem with restrictions like this is it changes the game according to one person's (or a small team) opinions. Hydra's imo are not as powerful as they were in 7th edition but lots of tournaments still put restrictions on them because DE's are seen as a "powerful" list. COB ...

Without sitting on the fence too much i think it depends on both your play style and army list you want to take. Firstly let me say i very rarely go to Comp's these days (wife and kids ftw!) and if i do get license to do so, i tend to avoid one's that put in very strict limitations on what you can a...
