1500 WoC v VC 7th Ed final blast!

So, just before the new edition becomes available in Australia, I played against my local GW store manager's 'unique' tournament splice of a list. As I am not too familiar with the VC army book, there will be a lot of 'Staff of everything in 6" gets a free attack' so be warned And YES I realise...

Sounds like a pretty good learning experience. Also, no offence, but your opponent came across as being a bit of a twat to me :P

Anyway! OT: Your thoroughness to mention all during this rep was fantastic and made life sooo much easier ^_^

Thanks so much!

8th Ed - Deathstars

So, I leave this one to those who are a little more learned or better read than I on the topic of the new edition. Personally, I loathed deathstars of any shape or kind in 7th ed and I wanted to know if, through the current ruleset, GW has done anything to combat this abuse of gameplay? I unapologet...

Just putting this out there... Do you guys think Lizardmen could be the next dominator of 8th ed? Just thinking, with so many Ld tests the cold blooded rule would be massive. Their CC abilities are really good. Slanns are... well I don't think I need to explain there! What do you guys think? They se...

Yea, another price rise here down under. This is just getting ridiculous. It actually works out far cheaper to buy from the states and ship it over. The worst thing is, I spoke to my local store and he reckons that he will make hardly anything on the new RB, which as mentioned is now $124 AUD. Also...

Cheers mate. Its really disgusting >< If it keeps up - I'll just have to jump ship and go warmachine or some other system. Something a little more affordable :P

Also.. the new BRB is going to cost $124. Can you say ick?

I agree with this change even though it hurts us. Big ranked units were too much of a liability in 6th and 7th ed which led to specialforceshammer becoming the dominant form in most armies. If you are worried about forking out for more troops use unit fillers. Alternatively you could worry less abo...

Warhammer Rulebook and Armies book - 3rd edition!

So I have come into possession of 'Warhammer Fantasy Battle' Third Edition Rulebook and 'Armies'. Although this is a piece of great history... I'm not really a collector of these old tomes. I believe this edition was released around 1987-1988 (not entirely sure). They are both in great condition wit...

awesome batrep! Cant wait to see your models painted! My club has a house rule that if a non painted unit comes into CC against a painted unit (obviously primed doesnt count) then the painted unit gets an auto 1 SCR.

hehe - other than that wikid stuff!

sweet little evaluation with some great insights! Your first list certainly looks hard but I can see the flaws of it. The second list is also pretty nice, but I cant see any hard anvil units. Your third list takes the best of both worlds and I think it definitely has the potential to be a great list...

The reason I don't like the Dagger is because it more or less requires a 30+ spearelf unit (so basicly, building your army around it abit.), something I never use (I never go past 25 normally), and if i put that 30+ unit on the table and put a Lvl4/Lvl2 nearby, most of my opponents will go "ah...

well then ur fine ;D

I think this is a list u have to be a bit sneaky and discreet with ;D.

u know, have so much going on in all these different areas at once!

The Hydra will prolly be ur centre point (that thing aint dyin) master on one end, DR's on the other and ull be fine

to part 1 of ur question, I think your not quite using the unit of spearmen the way they should be used in this situation. Use naked spearmen. Dont worry bout command and all that and they really arent there to be an anvil. Look at them as power dice ^_^ because thats why they are there. no other re...

i agree with Brokenstone here.

500 point lists are always tight tho. so im content with either list
but having said that the BG is pretty largee!

I would opt to use the 1st list (hydra is a win for me) and have the Master run solo and snipe at any lone wizards etc.
