You indeed have a ton of good points for the theme already. Tularis is a wonderful option for giving your corsairs frenzy. In my list I always go with a well defended Corsair Captain (Master) with Crown of command for a stubborn pirates that can hold up some rounds of combat before the bigger things...

I've got stormvermin fur mixed in allot of my De scheme, so that'll work nicely.
It indeed seems like a faster way. if it turns out to be looking better, its all the more preferable.
